Honda Malaysia has officially introduced the 2017 Honda CR-V in the country, and the fifth-generation RW arrives here in four variant forms, three of which are turbocharged. The three turbo versions are led by the range-topping 1.5L Turbo Premium 2WD, which is equipped with Honda Sensing and LaneWatch, and this is followed by the the 1.5L Turbo in 2WD and 4WD guise.
All the turbo variants are equipped with a 1.5 litre direct injection turbocharged VTEC engine, the same seen on the Civic, but output of the L15B7 has been bumped up in this application to 193 PS at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm, or 20 PS and 23 Nm more than that on the sedan. Performance numbers include a 0-100 km/h time of 8.8 seconds for the Turbo 2WD and Turbo Premium 2WD, and 9.2 seconds for the Turbo 4WD, with all having the same 200 km/h top speed.
The fourth CR-V is a normally-aspirated version, and the 2.0L i-VTEC 2WD is the entry-level offering in the new CR-V range. The base model retains the previously-seen R20 naturally-aspirated 2.0 litre i-VTEC motor with 154 PS at 6,500 rpm and 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm, good enough for a 0-100 km/h time of 11.3 seconds and a 193 km/h top speed. All four CR-V models feature Honda’s Earth Dreams CVT transmission, which replaces the five-speed auto seen in the outgoing model.
Measuring 4,584 mm long, 1,855 mm wide and 1,689 mm tall, the new CR-V is six millimetres shorter but 35 mm wider and four millimetres higher than the previous-gen, while the wheelbase has seen an increase of 40 mm, now measuring 2,660 mm.
Some other relevant numbers. Ground clearance is 198 mm, except for the 4WD model, which has an additional 10 mm (208 mm) of clearance. Kerb weight is 1,520 kg for the 2.0L NA, while the Turbo 2WD is 1,543 kg. The Turbo 4WD, meanwhile, tips the scales at 1,595 kg, while the top-of-the-line Turbo Premium 2WD weighs in at 1,549 kg.
The automaker says that the new car offers best-in-class space, and interior volume has been bumped up to around the 4,100 litre mark, roughly around 100 litres more than the old car. Boot space with the second-row rear seats up is 522 litres, and 1,084 litres with the seats folded flat – in this particular configuration, 1,830 mm of flat floor cargo space is available.
As already highlighted previously, the complete CR-V range sold in Malaysia are all five-seat versions, which is along the lines the SUV was designed on. According to Honda Malaysia, a survey showed buyers in the target market don’t really look at extra seating as a primary point of consideration, instead placing space and features ahead of the additional seats, and so the decision was made to retain the familiar five-seat layout.
The CR-V is pretty comprehensively equipped, even at base model level. Standard equipment across the entire range includes auto LED headlights and LED DRLs and fog lamps, black combination leather seats, walk-away auto door locking, smart keyless entry with push-start ignition, paddle shifters, dual-zone air-conditioning and rear AC vents.
Also on, cruise control, an auto dimming rear view mirror, eight-way driver powered seat with lumbar support and four-way passenger powered seat, four-way rear parking sensors, two rear USB charging ports, a three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel and one-touch folding seats.
All the CR-V variants also come equipped with an eight-speaker, seven-inch Advanced Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and hands-free telephone connectivity along with two front USB and HDMI ports.
There’s also a full colour LCD TFT instrument meter panel, which can display a number of functions, the readouts including telephone calls, music and FM station selection. On the 4WD model, the instrument panel can also display torque distribution.
Away from the 2.0L i-VTEC 2WD, the turbo models come with auto wipers and four-corner front parking sensors. The normally-aspirated 2.0 litre also gets silver interior trim accents and rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped with 235/65 rubbers, while all the turbo variants get a wood finish and are equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels and 235/60 tyres.
The 1.5L Turbo Premium 2WD adds on auto high beam, active cornering lights and a height-adjustable powered tailgate, which can be programmed to open to a certain height for ease of use.
It’s also the only variant equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems, which we have already detailed in our preview drive with the car.
The range-topping CR-V 1.5L Turbo Premium 2WD is the first Honda to be sold here with the package, which utilises a millimetre wave radar in the grille and a monocular camera positioned at the top of the windscreen to provide a number of new active safety features.
It groups seven items under its umbrella, these being Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), the last working together with a Low Speed Follow (LSF) function.
In terms of safety, the ASEAN NCAP five-star rated CR-V features six airbags (dual front, side and side curtain) across the entire model range, which is up from the four on the outgoing 2.0 2WD and 4WD variants (only the range-topping 2.4 4WD model had six) as well as rear Isofix mounting points.
Elsewhere, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) is standard across the range, now supplanted with Agile Handle Assist (AHA). The CR-V also comes with hill-start assist, auto brake hold, ABS/EBD a multi-angle rear view camera
As for overall performance, the automaker says that the new CR-V – in its 1.5L Turbo guise – offers improvements over the fourth-gen in all relevant areas across the board. These include improved dynamics and stability, better steering precision and feedback as well as less delay in vehicle movement in response to input. Needless to say, it’s also faster off the mark and correspondingly, sportier in nature.
Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance has also been improved on, with a number of revisions helping to achieve the necessary. Items in the rework include the incorporation of additional sound insulation materials and a new floating rear sub-frame.
Also on, a re-optimised arm configuration for the the multi-link rear suspension and the introduction of liquid-filled compliance bushings and mountings. It’s all good enough to bring the NVH levels to European SUV levels, according to the automaker.
Five colours are available for the CR-V, these being Obsidian Blue Pearl, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and a new shade called Dark Olive Metallic. There’s a RM400 premium for the White Orchid Pearl
The 2017 Honda CR-V range is priced as follows:
Honda CR-V 1.5L Turbo Premium 2WD – RM167,700
Honda CR-V 1.5L Turbo 4WD – RM161,600
Honda CR-V 1.5L Turbo 2WD – RM155,700
Honda CR-V 2.0L i-VTEC 2WD – RM142,400

Tiguan RM169k, CRV 168k, 3008 RM ? , CX-5 RM ?
Kia Sorento 7-seater RM139k.
After 5 year become 39k….haha
Naza Kia has a program that guarantees the value of your car after the fifth year. After that, you can trade it in for another KIA vehicle. Only drawback, is you are stuck with KIA.
KIA for life. Not bad mah.
ok leh, kia also have nice car..
Prices have gone up quite a lot. These prices are without insurance. Don’t be fooled with the OTR mention.
Already we Malaysians are paying the highest car prices in the world. To make it worse, our GDP per capita is one of the lowest in the world. According to EPF statistics, 78.3% of ALL its contributors only earn RM1500 and below.
We Malaysians not only earn so little, our car prices and petrol prices keep on going higher and higher
Im gonna call bull on this “fact” again. According to DOSM (Report of Household Income and Basic Amenities Survey 2014), median income is Rm6141 at compounded yearly increase of 10%. At 2017, its estimated will be at Rm8173.
Its no wonder C-segments & D-segments & SUVs & MPVs r getting hotter day by day.

Prices have gone up substantially. These prices DO NOT include insurance.
RM142k = SGD45.5k drop
Yo Honda Malaysia. I have a very simple question for you geniuses in the product planning department. What car do you want your 7-seater Honda BR-V buyers to upgrade to in the years to come? The Nissan X-Trail???
CH-R. period
7 seater buyer moving to an even smaller 5 seater??? you must be one of the geniuses working in proton reducing the airbags or features in facelifted proton exora or iriz.
Why dragged in P1 here? Irrelevant
Yeah should hv 7 seater. Now i am just keeping my current CRV.
Yeah should hv 7 seater. Now i am just keeping my current CRV. Hehe
Dont get the pug 3008.. its a trap.. it will slowly kill you after the third year.. experiencing right now..
Ya, money trap.
Mine is coming to 4th year soon at 88,000km with exactly ZERO problem, I will buy either 3008 or the coming 5008 that’s for sure

Tenkiu DRB Hicom survey – CRV 5-Seater.
TOYOTA CH-R is poised for supremacy, SUV Of The Year 2017 !
Now all CVT. Locals seem to like CVT.
Yes likey. P1 punch CVT especially.
Judging by the amount of Saga3flx, Preve, and Exora on roads, very much likey yes.
err because they cant choose which type of auto tranny they wanted maybe?
How many auto tranny can they choose in a vios?
Strange, Honda is using the R20A version engine used in the previous gen Accord and current Perdana as opposed to the R20Z improved version which is used in the current Accord and previous gen CR-V. What is the reason for this?? Low sales of Perdana prompting Honda to have to use the R20A engine to clear inventory?
It’s called Dumping Ground. All these while Toyota and Nissan used to do that and now Honda has joined the bandwagon. As long as politicians involved in these automotive business nobody is going to stop this act.
At least Honda tries to mask it with nice gadgets for the car. Toyota and Nissan not even bothered. Old tech with bare care but comparable prices.
Not politicians, but MY pipu. They say dinosar tech is reliable and gooding. So how leh?
Some engines were designed and engineered for different purposes like stronger torque etc. Even though there is variable valve timing, such thing as different configuration of bore x stroke still matters. Honda have engineers. Most of the bashers here is PT are just engine-near.
Who wants to bet that the best selling 1.5l Turbo model would be the only one with 4WD?
Who needs 4WD in congested traffic to shopping malls ?
DK
But the strongest reason to having 4wd is the amazing traction you get when you are driving in the rain. It is not meant for offroad.
That CRV aunty go pasar confirm know the 4WD diff
Aunty can drive up and park at the kerb meant for people to walk nearby pasar
Sorry Honda..
without 7 seaters, I’ll prefer Kia Sorento..
Well, no one stopping you.
Honda BRV 7 seaters.
Toyota Avanza too. Plus weld the diff and can do burnouts
No need say sorry. Honda doesn’t care about you.
dont punish yourself driving this cvt 240nm honda bro.. get the 2.2 turbo sorento 200ps 440nm 6 speed auto… you will be king of the highway for sure.. sorento – german engineered korean made
OMG OMG. Who can afford at this price? This is ridicuolus. In US, the previous 2.4 was only USD$22k. A frsh graduate there earns US$4500 per month
In Malaysia, fresh graduate here earn RM2500. But car is RM170k. Where got logic? Somemore CKD with Made in Malaysia parts, it should be far cheaper. That is the whole purpose of CKD, to make it affordable to Malaysians.
This is why Malaysian Gomen encouraged CKD. In the 90s, all our cars were CBU. But gomen said CKD would be affordable to Malaysians and started CKDing cars in MAlaysia
Why don’t u compare with Thailand or Indonesia instead? They oso CKD CRV. Thai has higher parts localization.. Thai oso has lower excise tax. check thai price..
I compare with Western country cause Gomen already confirmed that we are on track to be FIRST World by 2020, that is 3 years time.
Gomen already confirmed that we are also on track that by 2020, we become high income nation with GDP per capita of USD$48,000. That means, Malaysians would have an income of USD4000 (RM18,000) per month in 3 years time.
Naturally, if we are going to be FIRST world in 3 years time, we should also have First world car pricing also and follow Mat Salleh pricing of cars.
RM18000 per month … soon yb soon ….. soon RM on par with YMB or yen or thai baht or indo rupee
Gomen confirmed we become high income nation. Jangan persoal..
GDP dun mean its ur income if u lazy bum.
Okaayyy. If u so insist wanna compare FIRST World Country, then whats the price in southoverlord land then? WITH COE.
Last checked, CBU price still.
Once CKD in tomyam, it will come from tomyam.
Goment forgot to add in the USD currency may be is USD 1 = Rm 50 upon 2020 also.. come on, who will listen to Goment nowadays.. i just follow one thing they said, the public holidays.. :D
Thai has higher parts localization? Proof?? #sembangkencang
Kzm maa. Like that one. Talk kok only. Honda still the best. They can even make a 10 seater CRV if they want.
For MY assembly, the tyres and battery cud have come from tomyam. So in tomyam, these r considered local parts, no?
Validate yr “cud have come from”.
don’t bother with fake news poster
Mich, Bridge, Yoko, GY r tomyam made. Only Conti made in MY.
GP, Furu, FB oso made in tomyam. They used to use MY made Yoko Bat but that closed down alredi.
Does that answer ur Q?
Admin pls ban Mr Duplicate
Isn’t it obvious? remember when Thai having worst flood ever.. Pegoh plant oso shut down. Why do you think they shut down? now remember?
Mudah lupa…oh waii
Bro. That happen in 2015. Caveman only came out from gua in 2016. His water dripping news still from circa 2005. Gip him time to catch up to todays news in, oh, 12 years later.
How to trust your facts?
1) you say Malaysia has cheapest car prices
2) you say our petrol cheapest in the world
3) you say people earn RM8143 in Malaysia
A person who lies is a caveman. Lies such as cheapest petrol in the world.
Saya Putar , Halim
i never say car or petrol price is the cheapest. Not even once
Honda sensing maa…. Even Tiguan also don’t have
hyundai ioniq got one.
bro… your comment is like, when you admiring A bungalow with swimming pool in the garden, then you lie to yourself ” My Condo also have swimming pool”. thats make you comfortable.
Bro, all of us still suffering with ridiculous Malaysian Gov car taxes. LOL. Honda in USA, Japan and Europe regions is an ordinary vehicle car brand only.
However, here in bolehland, the big A$$ H logo cars are always perceived as Premium or Luxury vehicles although made in Melaka assembly plant.
Honda in Malaysia is a High resale value brand no matter how ugly or outdated their engines or parts fitted onto their vehicles. Better buy or try out other brands with better value for money. Dont just limit to Big H only. Hahaha. Cheers and no offence.
What other brands with better value for money? Can u suggest the brands?
Xtrail if want SUV, Exora if want MPV, BRV if want crossover, Alza if dun want rear axle.
nice one john..hahaha
Is it possible to get the AWD model with the sensing package/suite as on option? It will probably cost close to RM190k though. And is probably the reason Honda did not offer it standard. But should at least give the sensing suite as option for the AWD model, for those who are willing to pay.
its nice, i believe subaru and nissan will be facing hardtime in their sales figure next month….
Where’s the gunmetal metallic color? Arrghh
So no Honda Sensing on 1.5L Turbo 4wd?
I guess no one want to pay RM174k for 1.5 Turbo 4WD Honda Sensing.
I would pay max RM172k for that though.
Where is gomen promise to reduce car prices by 30%? Already Malaysians are paying the highest car prices in the world.
Gomen should honour their promise to the rakyat to reduce car prices and not increase car prices. It is difficult for the rakyat with increasing petrol prices to survive.
But will gomen listen to the pleas of the rakyat? Cause they own DRB so, if DRB makes more money, gomen is happier.
see this same fake copy paste post every time. Find a life Mr
Wait a darn minute. When reduced prices, u pulak hentam no RV. So mana mau ni?
Which world u came from that has bog standard cars RV higher than purchase price?
But, what if i want 4wd premium? Cannot meh?
The ugly wood trim is such a pain to the eyes……
For my question, “the price”. The bigger engine, the price is high” and “the smaller engine, the price is low”. But in malaysia, bigger engine but low price, smaller engine become high price lol haha. My question is about opinion and dont involve my question with “Insurans”. Peace.
Fikiran Kolot bro!
It’s smaller displacement with turbocharging. Output is higher compared to larger displacement engine (when boost is at peak). Cave exit… stage left.
Finally it is here
Black as usual, as in USA.
No tyre pressure monitoring, just like Toyota.
Suboptimal rear design, typical of CRV.
? Milo tin, awaiting independent test drive report.
It is very sad that AWD is not include “Honda Sensing”. Possible to add?
Dear Honda Malaysia,
Please STOP the utter BS lie on the survey thing.
It doesn’t make sense at all.
What’s with the fake wood trim panels? Back to the old kah motor days? So farking Ugly!
Their survey indicated Malaysians wanted the retro fake wood look from the 90’s. LoL
Build quality is too poor for Rm140k if you examine closely. 5 seater again and CVT. Bad decision.
U can see that those willing RM$140k is like rubbish
to HM… All rakyat pls boycott buying cars for 6 months, U will see car dealer begging rakyat with big discounts for sure.
Then? What u expect rakyat to do? Go instead for ur worse than crap Avanza & Fortuner?
Switch to Mazda CX-5 and Nissan X-trail like other Malaysians. No more poorly Made in Melaka crappy quality dashboard and interior parts issues.
Mazda and Nissan have excellent design and sportier vehicles compared to ugly Hondas with Big H everywhere. Stupid brand! Hahahaha. Got more cash inside bank, buy Mercedes or Audi SUVs la. Case closed.
Design Damn ugly is one thing. Malaysians dont seem to care about design and outdated, useless Malaysian Hondas which are not fully equipped compared to Japanese JDM H vehicles, New Zealand H vehicles, Thailand H vehicles and even Australian H vehicles. These countries have Civic Type R and Jazz RS Mugen full spec models available. Malaysia still dont even have a simple Civic FC RS like in Thailand or Jazz RS with DOHC Earth Dreams engine but outdated stone age caveman SOHC piece of garbage outdated engine. LMAO.
Here, Malaysians are completely blinded by Honda’s branding and marketing plans.
In the other countries stated above, nobody gives a huge FK about Honda cuz its just a car and not a luxury status symbol like here in Malaysia.
Just several examples of 2 models of other Honda international markets:
Jazz RS Mugen Sport Limited: H New Zealand
Fit RS: H JDM Japan, Singapore
Jazz RS Full spec complete with latest DOHC Engine and LED headlights etc: Honda Thailand,Indonesia, Japan, Singapore.
Jazz with Honda Lanewatch: Honda USA, Canada.
Civic FK8 Type R: Honda USA, Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand.
Honda Malaysia: Sad and outdated shitbox Jazz Vspec empty car and no official Fk2 and Fk8 Type R models for sale. A huge WTF? LMAO!
The truth hurts indeed Honda Malaysia:(
Extremely Silly and childish management team with poor automotive mindset.
A huge F**K you to Honda Malaysia. Honda Netherlands and Macedonia have brand new TYpe R Civic FK8 units for sale to customers.
The management in Honda Malaysia and go one corner and masturbate better. Pantat punya Honda organization.
TC nissan just called, they want the x-trail olive green colour back.
Throw in all the fancy features, yet still stingy to give four auto windows.
Expensive….eev where2
abang honda
why la honda sensing not inside 2L natural aspirated engine ?
i cannot afford the top premium range
By 10th gen, the shape becomes balloon.
4th gen CR-V already looks balloon…
New CX-5 now balloon shape. But looks nice thou
The new crv rear lights….real ugly design.
Takpalah, I tunggu Boyue. Kalau RM100,000 pun berbaloi…
CRV RM100,000 RV. Boyue RM30,000 RV pun berbaloi sangat…
still think it would be good to wait for cx5
Wonder why full spec or top spec model is not 4WD or AWD
Expensive like hell, i’m looking forward for proton boyue which is only below 100k
PT, what about warranty? Standard 5 years manufacturer warranty / 150,000km for this?
It’s a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.
nice car but expensive.
At this price range, buyers got many other choices
mazda much more cheaper…price..
Wait n see
agree with you, but been checking around to get something comparable, Tiguan (VW defect issue), Xtrail (Like it, but lack of new tech like CRV), CX5 (small cabin), Kia sorento (NO -NO)… hard to compete with this CRV.
Faux Wood Trim = (Last Generation Camry)… Yarks
Honda sensing only worth about rm6100 and why dont HM make it optional and also the seven seats option..waiii
we want 7 seater car for optional….have to choose nissan
x trail have 7 years/ unlimited milage warantty…nissan win on this
Price…x trail lagi murah…
X trail..7 seater…
so..have to go for x trail….bye bye honda..
Problem is XTrail no turbo… but if the XTrail Hybrid (the one they have in Thailand) make it here, then I think CRV will suffer…
Trending… Hybrid > Turbo > NA
turbo for profomnce..yes…
but dont no yet on reability…
Xtrail NA..less torque more fuel more expensive roadtax..no Nissan Sensing
not necessarily more fuel consumption vs NA. keep it under boost for the same time with 2.0 NA engines and it’ll consume more. plus if you kept it out of boost then you wont benefit the torque from turbo. Thats why high compression with direct injection NA in newer mazda is the way to go.
Obviously you dun drive one. Even without the turbo starts, the torque is nearly there. No need to push pedal hard if you dun need it.
Go and find the performance chart and you will know.
Only 2 airbags too
Read the fine print dude….
5years cover everything. Next 2 years – cover only engine & transmission (terms and condition apply sumore).
Ugly for current trend. As much as i hate the VW, Tiguan is the way to go.
is there a typo error?
“1,830 cm of flat cargo space is available.”
1830 cm?
LOL, thanks for the spot. It can’t be 18.3 metres long! Slide listed it incorrectly, should be in mm rather than cm. Corrected, and thanks again.

Sorry sorry, I am just feeling boring. So, makes joke around.
Kinda boring…..
Can’t wait to see this one by one replacing the older models on the roads. The analog dash display is coming to an end. Few more years then it’s probably all gone. Gonna miss those dials…
Good car. CRV has always been a popular choice and now with this turbo offering, it’s going to be a tough fight for the rest. At 1.5 Turbo, you have better performance, uses less fuel and pay less for road tax. Of course it’s more expensive to begin with.
Wonder when certain brand will start to offer their real turbo variants.
Gotta keep up with the trend. It’s a selling point…
so why need to get crv insted of hrv…both them have 5 seater..and hrv much more sporty look…at cheaper price…
yup… driving 1 HRV now and i think it is more than enough.. the only complain is the rear suspension which the HRV using torsion beam as oppose to CRV multilink
other than that, it is still a 5-seater with plenty of room..
One is B segment one is C segment. is totally diff in material used, specs, space, driving comfort etc. You can say the same. why need a civic when u have city with 5 seater & spacious with much cheaper price? or why you need BMW X6 when you can get X1 at much cheaper price?
Buy used X1 with Diesel…worth every penny!
Get a Kia Sorento 2.2 Turbo Diesel. CRV 1.5 turbo cannot beat this beast in terms of performance.
Sorento 0-100kmh 9.2secs and CRV Turbo 8.8secs. Don’t just look at the engine output. Sorento weight damn heavy about 2tons while CRV only 1.5 tons.
BRV only 1.2 tons.
To be fair though, tht sorento diesel has massive amount of torque. It definitely pulls like crazy from a standstill. You need to test drive to believe. Might be even faster than advertised 9.2 sec.
Stop looking at the stats.. can you feel 0.4s difference? It’s called power-to-weight or in this case, torque-to-weight ratio.
0-100 is only applicable when full throttle. Not forget the extra 200nm is gonna pull down a tree. Too bad honda favours horsepower way more than torque. Peaky drive Only good for drag race but not for daily driving
fugly lah hello~
Don’t talk cock as if like u buy ,no $$$ go either bombed ATM to or go for Kancil. What for talk this n that n don’t compared to other countries coz Malaysia Boleh. For Honkys no problem to buy if like. This is what I called quiet Gentleman.
meanwhile, UMW Toyota still sleeping… hehehe…
No. They sent their redundant salesmen here to talk bollocks and badmouth other brands.
U are doing doing an “excellent” job john.
face→mirror
I’m VW owners, and i would get this CRV anytime over VW. And you know the reason why in Malaysia….
VW DCT problem…
So the cost of adding honda sensing is about 12,000 ringgit (difference between 2wd hs turbo and 2wd turbo). So a 4wd honda sensing would cost anove 170k. I guess honda malaysia has a policy of keeping the price sub 170k.
If somebody can afford…. why not?
Where is AWD premium ? Honda Malaysia … I’m looking for that.
AWD Premium and 7-seaters, facelift version sure got. Don’t worry..
aunty go pasar will love this
Thank you Honda. But I’m gonna pass on this and go for C-HR, if you don’t mind.
But CH-R 1.2T 0-100 is slow takes almost 12seconds
Sadly this car is not a looker. And costly in its category. If I were to go for performance, I’d pick X4 RX NX so on. So since I’m looking for a suv only, I’d go for CHR, never mind the performance.
CH-R = HR-V in terms of body size
Very nice and very good car meh, also very cheap, what more you want?
what’s the 0-100? can beat the civic?
waiting aftermaket ACC part to bolt on into my civic FC
Honda your latest design cues are all ripped off from volvo’s 90s series…please don’t be lame. your wood inlays are hideous…you kept your interior looks so secured like nuclear launch codes only to be a complete dismal!
I dont understand what the fuss is about the lack of a 7-seater option. The new gen CRV is designed for 5 seats, period. The extra row for +2 is useless and adds unnecessary weight and takes up storage volume. If you want 7-seats, feel free to shop for other brands or buy an MPV ! Stop bitching about the new CR-V being offered only with 5 seats.
Wut…??! crv only come with 5 seaters….omaigad
as you can see Honda is testing malaysian’s market response with this launch(yes, this launch is actually is Honda’s survey)
coming face-lift will address 2 main issue: +2 seater and no more 80’s woodgrain interior, it will be faux aluminium(like Civic) and faux carbon(for premium & Type R)
what happen to the new press park buttons? why is there a gear shift there?
Why is Honda making uglier cars day by day.
No panoramic or even sunroof?
Whats with the ugly expensive optional accessories? Even more expensive than Toyota. How come?
if those fancy sensors, adaptive cruise & low speed follow broken, must cost a fortune to repair.
Disappointing, don’t have 7 seater !!! Xtrail win here !
Top spec without AWD ?? Honda Malaysia got mental retarded or what ?
I guees this is honda sensing fault. For the 1st time they introduced. Even thailand high spec diesel 4wd variant not get sensing system. Expected when the facelift version HM will be put 4wd in the honda sensing variant & 7 seats too..
cr-v drivers arent even bothered w AWD. they just want a big vehicle to make them feel safe OTR against other cars. whats AWD for anyway for an SUV? better go for 4wd capabilities on pickups or other capable SUVs. ive never seen an cr-v owner takes it off-road.
Why need to choose 5 seater CRV where you have many options like HRV/CX5/Kia sportage/Tucson/WW tiguan/Subaru/Nissan xtrail/ 7 seater sorento and carnival.
I think this 5 seater CRV will fail miserably as compared to 7 seaters BRV.
A bigger car but provide 5 seater. what a stupid decision made.
There are many people dislike BRV because interior is a bit cramp and hope for bigger 7 seaters CRV. but honda ‘s decision kill his own product.
I predicted they will bring in the 7 seaters after 6 months from now when poor respond for this 5 seater CRV. haha
Ugly design. Just shouting out cheapness on every panels and parts. And its not as solid as CX5 and Tiguan.
Adoi if their survey that only customer prefer 5 seats, at least HM offered the optional 7 seats package for turbo variants.
I will wait for the Diesel variant with 9 speed transmission, 7 seater, honda sensing suite, panoramic roof, ventilatted seats and 4wd! It’s okay if the price same like sorento high spec diesel, but at least honda has better RV!
Actually, now tht ppl bring up abt the no. of seats, why isnt this region not getting any of those fullsize SUVs with more seats and usable space? Chevy has a few in their lineup so why dont bring some to this part of the world (maybe not straight frm the US but perhaps manuf at their Thai factory?) is it simply because nil/low demand?
Maybe a lot of talk only, but no genuine plan to buy… no offence
Lol i, for one, will not buy an SUV, fullsize or compact. It’s pretentious and useless IMO but apart frm that, all SUVs hv a propensity to roll over due to the higher CoG. Hence how that MyVi could tip over a pajero. Simple physics at work. If i really need that 4wd functionality to go off-roading at my kampung’s jalan balak, i’d get a pickup.
Good job honda…but dun forget the cx5 that around the corner….im about to buy the sportage gt…but seem like the price nothing to compare what honda offer….kia must put price for big offer la like this to clear stok bfor the cx5 coming..if not cannot sell la..personally, i love the sportage exterior design…but this honda interior osemmm….cant wait to see the cx5…mazda always do better job for the interior..
I live in Thailand and saw a few of these on road already. It’s a looks good on road especially at night with the led lights which xtrail and cx5 still with projector and even halogen reflector. Crv here doesn’t come with Honda sense even for TOP model. Honda even omitted vtec turbo and went with 2.4NA and 1.6 turbo diesel with 160ps/350Nm. Price start from 1.35 mil up to 1.6 mil baht which is even more expensive. Considering average income and gasoline price here, I don’t think it’s expensive for the equipment provided. Even 130k xtrail comes with only halogen reflector and two airbags. SUV this size are not designed for 7seats. People buy because it’s Confortable Roundabout Vehicle for comfort, not cramming 7 people. Of course people in this region only think of cramming as much people possible in a cheap car so we see many unhappy people complaining for 7 seats.
Booked VW Tiguan at April 2017 and waited almost three months now. At the end told me the forecast delivery date on December 2017.
Asked for drop out order, but the car no yet arrive also, fastest arrival on October (cancelled order who booked at March, before launch).
No choice but to cancel my order and purchase Honda CRV, which is ready stock.
Tiguan is slightly better in term of dynamic (handling is best in class and german engineering), good product but poor product planning, marketing and after sale service.
I believe many people who booked the Tiguan will change to CRV now, good job VPCM, you guys have a good start but end up boost your competitors sale.
Same here, had drop out order for tiguan since they poor planning has affected all becoming new VW owner. Their promises to deliver the car within 3months is just rubbish… tested both of the car (tiguan & new crv).. however if looking at the handling/comfort, i would go for tiguan, but overall package, CRV still the best choice i.e. long term durability, after sales service, safety features, car features etc… booked crv and currently awaiting the car to be delivered to me.after all, the overall package that matters. period.
Just went for test drive.
The drive is better than previous generation as it is more solid, smoother and stable over bump.
1.5T is more powerful. Sound proof is better except that when it is pressed hard to accelerate, there can be some noise from CVT transmission. However, x-Trail CVT is more annoying with more noise. Anyway, CVT transmission is meant for smooth light driving.
However, i am amazed that even for top spec TCP, there is no Garmin GPS!!!!! Honda has taken this out for this generation as it was found in top spec of the previous generation.
after so many years of following CRV, this gen really move me, high tech, cabin is spacious, nice dashboard, LED headlight is really nice.. thinking to get one. the back light is somehow like missing something.. ;D a bit ugly…. and the price is steep
Can customer customize to change the brown accent trim to the silver accent trim in the top spec model? I find that brown trim doesn’t look compatible with the interior.
RM20-30 sticker wrap at your own preference finish and color will do the trick.
@Paul/Anthony, we all know the 4WD is essential for off-road terrain, improved confidence when doing cornering and high speed during the rain but all these are just general knowledge about 4WD/AWD. Can you do a comparison video how does 4WD of this CRV actually works in real life? Going up sandy or grassy slope, test on rollers how the power send to any individual wheels or real muddy terrain. Thanks.
I went to 4 honda showrooms in klang valley and they only hv crv 1.5 turbo for test driving. All of them said that no crv 2.0cvt for test driving in any honda showrooms in klang valley.
Is this true…??..so how am i going to buy a crv 2.0 without testing one?
