MINI Clubman Sterling Edition revealed for Malaysia – limited to just 20 units, RM268,888 estimated price

MINI Malaysia has introduced the new MINI Clubman Sterling Edition, a limited-edition model that is exclusively available for booking online via a dedicated website. The flash sale is set to go live from August 15 to 26, so if you want to secure one of the 20 units being offered, you’ll want to direct your web browsers, here.

Based on the F54 Cooper S Clubman, the Sterling Edition comes with a Melting Silver exterior body colour, matched with Matte Black Jack mirror caps and roof decal. The side scuttles near the front wheels also feature Black Union Jack symbols within them as a homage to the brand’s British origins.

Exclusive to the Sterling Edition is a set of 18-inch MINI Yours Masterpiece alloy wheels finished in black, which differ from the regular Cooper S’ gloss black 18-inch Star Spoke units. Meanwhile, the cabin adopts a Pure Burgundy and Indigo Blue combination, the latter being the colour of the upholstery for the Chester leather seats.

The Pure Burgundy interior also comes with the MINI Yours Illuminated Interior, offering owners 12 pre-set colours to choose from, similar to what you’ll find in the latest Countryman. The Chrome Line interior trim and an anthracite headliner are still part of the interior design.

Elsewhere, the Sterling Edition is fitted with a MINI Yours ‘Walknappa’ steering wheel wrapped with Nappa leather and featuring aluminium colours stitching and the union jack insignia (Cooper S Clubman has a John Cooper Works steering wheel).

Other additions include the MINI Parking Assist function, which helps make parking a little less stressful for the driver, along with the help of a rear-view camera. The MINI Connected infotainment system also receives a boost, now offering a navigation function.

Everything else on the Sterling Edition is similar to the regular Cooper S Clubman, including the 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine and eight-speed sport automatic transmission. The engine outputs 192 hp at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm (300 Nm on overboost) at 1,250 rpm, with the century sprint being accomplished in 7.1 seconds (228 km/h top speed).

The Clubman Sterling Edition has an estimated price tag of RM268,888 on-the-road without insurance, and as part of the flash sale mentioned earlier, interested parties will need to fork out a RM2,000 booking fee. Each purchase includes a four-year/unlimited mileage warranty, four-year/60,000 km free service package and five-year Roadside Assistance programme.

Those who want to view the Sterling Edition up close can proceed to Desa ParkCity on August 20, where the car will be put on display in conjunction with MINIFest 2017. The event will be the first-ever MINI styled marketplace where vendors and owners will be selling fashion, accessories and lifestyle items right from the boot of a range of MINI vehicles.

A mini used to be, well ‘Mini’ when British Leyland made it. Fast forward, Mini is no more the British car that Mr Bean use/drive in the TV series.

Its now under BMW hence its gone upmarket. With the upmarket image, it has also gone BIG in space, size & techs not to mention quality.

Coming back to the new MINI Clubman Sterling Limited Edition, this is a 4-doors Mini on Steroid so they are asking RM268,888 on-the-road without insurance.

Anyone who have spare Cash lying around may want to look at this limited edition because it will stand out in a crowd.

If U drive this Mini to your golf club, am sure the caddie will not stare at U for wanting to be different. He may even ask – Boss, can Pinjam test drive ka??

Something must be wrong with Malaysia or the Ringgit when a Mini can cost RM270k. Plus insurance….I think close to RM300k.

I used to own a 1970 Mini 850. In 1990, I sold it for RM400. Those days, those were Mini prices. But Mini Malaysia aka BMW Malaysia try to con the rakyat into believing that Mini is Rolls Royce and price it at crazy prices.
