After being previewed back in January this year, the Jaecoo J7 is now open for booking. Malaysia will be the first Southeast Asian country to welcome the SUV, with deliveries set to commence in the third quarter of 2024.
For now, the company is only providing estimate pricing for the J7’s two available variants. The base front-wheel drive (2WD) option is estimated to retail at RM150,000, while the all-wheel drive (AWD) is RM10,000 more at RM160,000. Buyers will have four colours to choose from, namely Moonlight Silver, Carbon Crystal Black, Khaki White and Model Green.
Both variants will feature a 1.6 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine rated at 197 PS (194 hp or 145 kW) and 290 Nm of torque, which is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. “The public’s consistent interest in anticipation of the J7, following two successful roadshows, has been very encouraging that we are so excited to begin accepting registration of interest. We believe Jaecoo Malaysia is bringing diversity to the SUV market, especially with the J7 being a strong challenger in the C-segment SUV market, which consumers in Malaysia appreciate,” said Jaecoo Malaysia president, Leo Chen.
Available features for the J7 are automatic LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and taillights, front and rear fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, keyless and start, remote engine start, a powered tailgate, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.8-inch touchscreen head unit (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), dual-zone climate control, powered front seats (with memory, heating and ventilation functions), a Sony sound system, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.

That brake incident was fake. She make a fuss because she was not happy with the sales rep attitude. Car has no problem. Look at the video, she steps on the brake and the brake holds. If brake spoil how she stop in the first place? She wants to make a fuss to get something free.
China car if not ev don’t bother
What’s with that Tesla-like “floating” portrait screen in the middle? Are they not interested in gaining heterosexual customers?
With the recent incident of Omoda 5, the QC and the resale value of this brand is now in doubts also…
That brake incident was fake. She make a fuss because she was not happy with the sales rep attitude. Car has no problem. Look at the video, she steps on the brake and the brake holds. If brake spoil how she stop in the first place? She wants to make a fuss to get 10 years warranty for free. We see many poor people do this in car showroom everyday.

Kerb weight 2037kg? That seems very heavy for a C-segment. Even Tiggo 8 is only around 1600kg, and that’s a 7 seater
2037kg should be the gross vehicle weight but wrongly updated as kerb weight. From website, noted kerb weight is about 1700kg+/- still heavier than my CX5 at 1500kg+/-
If not mistaken, J7 has similar engine wt Tiggo 7 Pro. To price J7, 2wd at rm150k compared to Tiggo 7 Pro at below rm130k is not reasonable, esp for slightly better exterior look and interior and features look more or less the same. Better wait and see first, a fair price for J7 is below rm140k.
J7 had similar size and engine of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro but being price rm20k+ more. Although J7 design looks better but a fair price should be rm140k.
