Peugeot Weekender Experience – test drive 408, other models over 3 days, plan trips using ChatGPT

Think a typical one-hour test drive is too short? Peugeot Malaysia is now offering customers test drives over up to three days with its Peugeot Weekender Experience. While multi-day test drives are not unheard of in other countries, to our knowledge the carmaker is the first to provide such a service in Malaysia.

A total of three models are being made available for long test drives, these being the 408, 2008 and Landtrek. Despite what the campaign name suggests, users can book their slots on both weekdays and weekends. Better yet, this “promo” will be held over the entire year, so there’s no rush.

To help prospective buyers figure out where to go to maximise their three allotted days, the Peugeot Weekender Experience website features a trip planner powered by ChatGPT. Those who participate in the programme can also upload a photo of their trip on social media to stand a chance to win a limited edition die-cast model of the 408.

Interested customers can book a slot either through the special minisite or by going to their nearest authorised Peugeot showroom and scanning a QR code. Test drives are open to all Malaysians with a valid driver’s licence.

The Peugeot 408 was launched last April, priced at RM146,055 for the Allure, RM166,055 for the Premium and RM196,055 for the GT. All are powered by a 1.6 litre PureTech turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 218 PS and 300 Nm to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Prepare yourself for the trip by watching our video review here.

  • If only they bring in and sell the Peugeot 508 in Malaysia, the 508 looks so much sportier and cooler than these bloated looking things that Peugeot Malaysia are bringing in.
