Paid RM2.60 a litre for your RON95 petrol due to a glitch? You can apply for a refund from Oct 9 – report

Had to pay RM2.60 a litre for your RON 95 petrol due to a technical glitch? Domestic trade and cost of living (KPDN) deputy minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh has said, according to a report by The Star, that you can apply for a refund for the difference from October 9.

“There were some complaints, such as system outages, but it was managed speedily. However, if motorists ended up paying unsubsidised RON 95 prices as a result, they may file for a claim,” she said yesterday, adding that on the whole, Budi Madani RON 95 (Budi95) has been running smoothly nationwide since its September 30 start.

Beginning October 9, businesses and individuals can apply for refunds for unsubsidised petrol purchases made between September 30 and October 31 at https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my with the claims supported by proof of purchase, such as receipts.

Businesses have to be registered with the Subsidised Petrol Control Scheme (SKPS) and submit proof that they have applied for a fleet card on or before October 31. Subject to KPDN verification and approval, refunds will be credited to applicants’ bank accounts within 15 working days.

Further enquiries can be made through the SKPS call centre at 03-8882 5893 / 5894 / 5923 / 6667 or by emailing [email protected].

To date, only around a quarter of businesses in Malaysia running vehicles eligible for subsidised petrol (numbering about 100,000 vehicles in total) have registered for SKPS, Fuziah said.

“The response has not been very encouraging, but the ministry is engaging the relevant groups, such as taxi associations, to get them to register under the SKPS to enjoy the petrol subsidy.

“Those who register late can still claim the subsidy backdated from October 1 as long as they produce receipts for their petrol purchase. We hope they will register under the SKPS promptly,” she said. Click here to register your business for SKPS, and see what kind of vehicles are eligible here.

Not only finding replacement, there are massive barriers and red tape in place even if qualified people want to apply for the job.

        Don’t get sick in Malaysia.

300 liters can travel 4500km in a modern car. if drive from singapore to thailand is only ~1200km. your company sales representative driving around the world is it?

Try driving a CX-5 2.5L turbo travelling throughout klang valley or central region servicing all the dealers in a week not utilising all the 300 liters quota? Idiot HR demands to use our subsidised 1.99 for company mileage claim!

why make it so damn difficult. just be transparent on the price during pump right. after IC verification, the fuel price/ liter on the pump should reflect the 1.99. then u can avoid all these glitches. Trade must be transparent..you pay for what you see. why need to print out a 1 meter long receipt after purchase to see how much you have spent??? apa logic? Damn… how much have we spent for this petrol subsidy event, and look at where we are! thumbs up (the ass!)

because the fuel pump machines are old legacy machines which cannot integrate with subisdy system hence the price cannot be displayed in real time. if you demand to upgrade system then it will cost the fuel companies a lot of money and are you going to pay for that ?

everybody and his mum was asking for cheaper cost of living and for govt to bring down inflation. and its not “cannot integrate full stop” , its just a matter of time where petrol companies eventually upgrade their systems . u must be a child if u expect things to magically happen instantly.
