Now that the GTI version has finally joined the standard hatch model in the fold, what next for the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 in terms of line expansion? A soft-top sibling should be on the cards, following on the rebirth of the cabriolet form brought on by the Mk6 incarnation.
We ran a couple of Theophilus Chin’s renderings of the topless Golf last year, but nothing like more. Here’s another illustration on what to expect, courtesy of the Automedia folk. Again, it’s all nice, unfettered lines. Somewhere down the line, a larger five-door Plus and Variant estate model should expand the lineup quite nicely for the 2013 World Car of the Year and European Car of The Year double gong winner.

Yes they can win all the awards in the world but the Mk7 has still the same faulty DSG BorgWarner DSG boxes which is famous for stalling, halting and complete failure. VW should just address the issue instead of coming out with all these cabroilet nonsense. China recently recalled 400,000 VWs with DSG. Its high time for all countries to do so.
Will this VW have DSG problems?
yes china china china, every dsg in the whole world got dsg problems, confirm they kapuk after 5k mileage and kong at the roadside, included those in audi and bugatti veyron
