With Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) indicating a local launch for the 2015 Nissan NP300 Navara to take place next month, it should come as no surprise that we have managed to obtain a brochure detailing said pick-up truck. Firstly, we can now confirm that the new Navara will be offered in a sole double-cab body style.
Also, the 2.5 litre YD25DDTi four-cylinder turbodiesel mill pumps out a total of 190 PS at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. More importantly, the brochure also states that the new Nissan NP300 Navara will be equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode – a first in its class in Malaysia.
Other class firsts include the addition of LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), Nissan Teana-esque zero gravity-inspired seats, rear air-con vents and multi-link live axle rear suspension. Aside from that, other goodies highlighted in the brochure include an ‘Intelligent Key’ with push-start capabilities, 18-inch alloy wheels, Advance Drive Assist Display (ADAD) and automatic dual-zone climate control.
As for safety kit, the Nissan NP300 Navara is equipped with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), four-wheel active brake limited slip (ABLS) and traction control – no mention on how many airbags the new truck will arrive with, though. Also present in the Navara are hill start assist (HSA) and hill descent control (HDC).
Interested parties would be glad to know that a quick check on Nissan Malaysia’s website will reveal the full list of locations for a roadshow on the new Nissan NP300 Navara. The campaign kicks off this October in the central region before making its way throughout the country and ending in East Malaysia in November.
So while we wait for more news revolving the new ‘Mother Trucker’, why don’t you hang back and take a detailed look at the truck in a gallery post here or read our review of the Nissan NP300 Navara in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Alternatively, you can also read what six owners have to say about their trusty workhorses here.
UPDATE: The Nissan NP300 Navara is now on display in Malaysia – details and gallery here.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
This would surely kill the sales of the Hilux and the Ranger.
Will we finally see a truck approach the rm130k mark….? Sounds like it…
The range topping Ranger WildTrak facelift is RM136,000 OTR. So the 120k mark is alrdy broken officially :)
Rear spoiler on a pick up… definitely first in class!
Y u no reveal the airbag count? We got a cliffhanger over here!
Its 2 airbag…. even the top range model in Thailand is 2 airbag…. which is a disappointment considering the Hilux top spec is 7 airbags
Hopefully this one got better engine.
Dont like the Frontier engine. Common cylinder/piston crack issue.
This Navara? R or H or B … Decisions decisions..
7 speed, rear air-cond vents, multilink rear suspension, 18″,…are all SUV specs….definitely kill Ranger
A lot of first in class features, give you a LIKE Nissan Malaysia!!
But, unfortunately no 6 airbags has mentioned.
Beware alot toyota salesman coming in posing comments
This is better than HILUX
will it cost below RM100k??? :(
With all those kit I have the feeling the price will not be nice for many people and since they didn’t mention how many airbags then it indicates it might soldier on with 2 else they would have highlighted it to entice customers.
PRICE FROM 85K-125K
2 AIRBAGS STANDARD. BUT VSC AND TCS IS STANDARD TOO.
the killer feature is the suspension la.
might be the first pick up with good comfort and handling. leaf springs are too…..hard for urban users.
for sure it will cost around 110k – 120k for the highest spec one.. but it can still kill the sales of ranger and even the no-where-to-be-seen hilux revo
Rear link means less load it can carry?
Based on review and overseas specs carry weigth more or less same, but though it will be more comfy with no load, when full load the review says the car handle worse unlike other leaf spring trucks
