VIDEO: Perodua Effect – more ways to see the world

A second video that further explains what the Perodua Effect means has been released. The description “more ways to see the world,” highlights how large families in particular were provided with the opportunity to move around, affordably.

“Remember the days when space for six never came easy? The Perodua Effect changed everything. We made mobility affordable for all, and gave you more ways to create incredible memories, because you matter most,” as said in the video.

A walk down memory lane reminisced that one of first-ever seven-seaters offered by the national automaker was the Perodua Rusa van. This was followed by the Perodua Alza, which was launched back in 2009. Currently, the Alza is priced from RM52k for the manual Alza S to RM64k for the Alza Advanced variant.

So guys (especially those with families), would you agree that the Perodua Effect has allowed you to create “incredible memories?” More importantly, has the Perodua Effect changed your lives in any way? Do share your thoughts or memories with us below.

Perodua Effect = Lots of motorists drive like snake especially Myvi (be it 1.0, 1.3 or 1.5). These cars although small in size (like black cobra), but they are very dangerous to other road users (even big SUV or pick-up trucks will kowtow and move out of their way for these ‘small’ Myvi).

Both Proton and Perodua are ‘affordable’ in a way. It is just that Proton produces unreliable things.

  • Proton achieving 13% TIV in 2016 (I hope not) on May 04, 2016 at 6:24 pm

No amount of airbags, ESP or hot pressed steel can substitute a decent quality and reliable car on the eyes of the Malaysian consumers. Malaysian car buyers in general, doesn’t care much about safety features or nice to have gadgets (yes Suprima, I am pointing finger at you), they want a cheap, point A to B, reliable car that doesn’t need to visit to the SC for parts replacement or quality issues. In this aspect, Proton fail miserably and Perodua pass with flying colours. While Proton cronies goyang kaki making lousy parts, Perodua vendors are “ambush” by Japanese officials from Daihatsu at 7.30am at their factory to perform spot check on their production line. This is how you ensure quality in your product. Heck, Perodua even has a dedicated techincal team scanning lowyat or other forum about owner’s complaint regarding quality issues on Perodua cars, all complaints are instantly documented and brought to the attention of the production line. Did Proton even bother about customer’s complaint? One visit to many of their SC will tell you why Proton sales has plummented to just 15% of the TIV or 100,000 vehicles last year, the worst in history.

So yes, Perodua deserve to be champ in the sales chart and laughing to the bank for the past decade because they care about quality. Proton on the other hand, doesn’t care about quality until very recently. At one point, they were so arrogant, thinking that Malaysian will buy whatever shit they produce. Remember the Proton ex-CEO who dismissed internet complaint about Proton quality as “rubbish”? Well, guess that stupidity has came full cycle on Proton, with its pathetic performance and in need of 1.5 billion bail out. In business, you reap what you sow. Hoepfully Proton learn its lesson.

“Remember the days when space for six never came easy”

Well, ask those pasar malam uncles of 90’s, and their ever reliable minivans.

And nope, IIRC, it’s not like Rusa was mega hit among them anyway.
