Honda Malaysia recently introduced a new exterior colour for its popular Honda HR-V. Called Dark Ruby Red Pearl, the new shade is similar to that offered for the City, and replaces Crystal Black Pearl. Here, we bring you live images of the HR-V in the new paint finish for your consideration.

As you can see, the new body colour is accompanied by a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, similar to those fitted on the Thai- and Indonesian- spec HR-Vs. These replace the previous 16-inch units, and are featured on all HR-V variants offered here – 1.8 S, 1.8 E and 1.8 V.

Seen here is the range-topping 1.8 V, denoted by the LED projector headlamps. Aside from the new colour and wheels, there are no visible changes on the exterior of the HR-V.

The same can be said of the interior, although there is now an optional rear shelf for the trunk, yours for RM550 (GST-inclusive). Speaking of pricing, the HR-V also receives a hike of RM672.44 across the range.

Therefore, the base 1.8L S now retails for RM99,129.67 (previously RM98,457.23), while the 1.8L E will cost you RM108,481.63 (previously RM107,809.19). For the range-topping 1.8L V, it is now priced at RM118,606.03 (previously RM117,933.59).

For those who are looking for other colours beyond Dark Ruby Red Pearl, the HR-V continues to be offered in Ruse Black Metallic, Taffeta White and Modern Steel Metallic. Alabaster Silver Metallic has been dropped from the HR-V colour list, but word is that a new shade will replace that in due time. What do you think of the Honda HR-V in Dark Ruby Red Pearl?

    To Honda designers/engineers:
CVT unresponsiveness + turbo lag = Civic.

they should have used the metallic maroon red that we saw on thailand city before instead. this red is simply el cheapo to me.

currently only Soul Red Metallic of Mazda and Jupiter Red of MB really stand out for me, and really have that special wow factors.

  • Extra RM700 for an extra sized rim and tyre. Seems like good value only if they threw in the better parcel shelf FOC.
