Perodua has announced that orders for the third-generation Perodua Myvi reached 6,000 units on Friday, the day after the B-segment hatchback was officially launched.
At point of introduction, that figure stood at 5,000 units. Statistics revealed that 78% of the bookings were for the 1.5 litre variants, and the preferred exterior colour was Granite Grey, which is new and exclusive to the 1.5 litre model.
Perodua president and CEO Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh thanked Malaysians for their strong endorsement of the car, and said the company remains committed to maximising deliveries to ensure that Myvi is delivered speedily to customers. The initial sales target for the D20N is 6,000 units a month.
The automaker also began deliveries of the car yesterday, and the first customer to receive his Myvi was Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) group chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.
The three grand prize winners of the Myvi 12 Iconic Years Anniversary SMS & Win Contest were also among the first owners of the new Myvi – Chin Mei Ling, Mohd Nazmil Mohd Nasir and Ong Kok Seng were each presented with keys to a Myvi 1.5 Advance yesterday.
The new Myvi is available in four model variants, and pricing starts from RM44,300 for the 1.3 Standard G manual and RM46,300 for the automatic. Next, the 1.3 Premium X goes for RM48,300, followed by 1.5 High at RM51,800 and the range-topping 1.5 Advance at RM55,300. All prices are on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of a five-year/150,000 km warranty.

I don’t know what Proton is going to do. Cause Boyue is only coming end of 2018. From now till end of 2018, Proton has to rely on their cars for sales.
This Myvi will 100% take most of Proton’s sales. So, how is Proton going to tahan until end of 2018 if Myvi is going to eat most of Proton’s sales?
Also, is there guarantee that Boyue will sell well after 2018?
Hear your answers. Proton can be a competitive global player.

Regarding the Proton, they been losing to P2 for the past years… It is OK to continue loss for another 1 year!
First thing that the new CEO need to do is, control the loss of Proton! Aiming big at this moment is useless! Proton need to go to basic, get internal restructure, rescreen all suppliers, and work on new model.
Two positive thing that had happen at Proton, just less than a Quarter the new CEO taking over.
1st – Under perform dealer, who did not pay debt, was requested to return those unsold car. You will not surprise to see some 2016 made car is selling at discounted price at this moment. Those who willing to take big volume with cash, was given attractive discount.
2nd – Proton supplier has been demanded to give 20% parts discount! More will come after they did the proper benchmarking with China parts suppliers.
So, for next 12 months, most likely, Proton will push more on Saga, the entry level sedan, instead of completing with P2 for hatchback
!
Mana itu P1 supporter that says Geely will come out fighting & win this battle?
I said the same thing that ALL Geely are Left Hand Drive & the fastest they can fight back with a Right Hand Drive is 12-18 months. In that time, any interested buyers would have bought this Myvi, leaving God knows who to be potential buyers of Geely rival to Myvi.
Boyue will be different segment & it would be interesting to watch the new dynamics that SUV will create. If packaged right, it will eat into Honda City Toyota Vios segment (as Malaysians buy according to RM costs). But my gut feel is that most will wait & see at least 1 year after launch to evaluate P1-Geely reliability, build quality, QC, turbo engine – gearbox in our hot humid weather etc.
In that 1 year of wait & see, IF P2 launches it’s new SUV, the proven P2 branding will eat into Boyue sales, as it’ll be cheaper (albeit smaller) & probably also loaded with safety features as standard equipment even in the basic entry level trim. The Malaysians psyche of proven Japanese technology > China technology will prevail, until Chinese Car Manufacturers prove themselves here.
Proton is Geely RHD global brand. Malaysia market too small for Proton might.
NEW MYVI ONLY EQUIPPED WITH 4-SPEED AUTO, 20 YRS OLD TECHNOLOGY…SO TERRIBLE AND SO DARING. WHY ? BECAUSE MOST OF THE USERS ARE BLIND PERODUA KNOWS VERY WELL ABOUT THIS.
Look at Proton’s lame & highly desperate response to new Myvi:
– online & newspaper spam ads everyday
– jual Pantun
– irrelevant Sepang race victory
– free service
– dark roof
– etc. zzzz
What a joke by Proton! LoL!
The 4 speed already has an overdrive ratio. Even achieved EEV status (none proton cars has EEV except the rebadged Retina, which is also 4 speed)
I mean, Ertiga
Do you know car ? EEV HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION. DON’T EMBARRASS YOURSELF.
I am waiting. Kia picanto

12 years back in 2005, Perodua Myvi started off as the underdog, an untested choice.
Now the humble Myvi proved its Boleh spirit becoz the side who wins people; Prospers. who loses them people, Fails.
Pipu buy coz it is cheap not because it is good
Than u are TOTALLY wrong. In any segment except Axia, Proton is cheaper than P2. Do price comparison between Saga vs Bezza, Iriz vs Myvi and Alza vs Ertiga.
This car far far far far far far far better value than Iriz, Saga or persona
But Perodua is an association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition cause Perodua doesnt allow other brands like Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Honda, Toyota, Nissan to be at the top, only Perodua is only wanted itself to be at the top which is very selfish, highly offensive, snobbish, awful and disrespectful to other car brands. Lastly don’t buy Perodua and also hopefully Perodua sales will keep on dropping
Amazing how Perodua has done so well and Perodua has done so well without any Government orders and Government bailouts of BILLIONS of Ringgit.
How can one company, with half the workforce, sell 200,000 cars last year and this year destined to sell about 300,000 cars whilst another company, double the workforce, can hardly sell 50,000 cars in a year?
If Perodua also had Government orders, Perodua will sell 300,000 this year too!
We are proud of you Perodua. You did not take 1 sen from the Government and yet, you can do so well. I rather give Billions to Perodua as they make us proud

oh come on……nothing is fair in this world, at home, at workplace, anywhere……
Lepas ni boleh la tgk myvi masuk rally…..hahaha
No need rally to sold the myvi. Myvi is trusted & reliable. Even junk iriz masuk rally using mitsubishi engine cannot sale well.
Tak sabar rasanya tgk myvi ni melayang layang mcm layang2….
Suspension is bad, cannot handle road bumps really well … Engine limiter shouldnt be there… what’s the point of a 1.5 vios engine when it cannot perform better than a kancil? It revs loudly but there is no noticeable acceleration.
Waiting for first GeelyProton car to roll out. Sure will give P2 a scare.

Fuyoh Hafriz looking sharp in a suit. Macam young Dato. Tapi bro, that tie macam tak matching lah.
But 10/10 for effort.
Am I going to see this model on the UK roads next year? I certainly hope so – it will definitely be a great contender for the small car group. Its design will be a winner and lets hope its performance and safety aspect will pass the stringent requirement of the European market.
Question about selling and buying and timeframe.
It’s now end of Nov, my wife owns a 2006 Myvi and plans to sell it and buy the new 2018 Myvi. She got the 2006 myvi evaluated and estimated she could get around 12k. She was also told that if she sells in next year (1month plus later) the price would drop about 2k.
However, the problem to ponder is that if she buy the new car now compared to if she buys the new car in 2018.. her car value will be around 4K less later on. Need some advice about this. Is it true that if she buy now her new car value will be less than if she buy in January?
Ps: can’t sell now and buy later.. need car traffic work
