alamak…! u could be right… can’t be sure for all those maskings… the old ‘underhand’ handle will leave nail markings on the door panel… the ‘grab thru’ handle is universally applicable for all type of people including children & the handicapped…

Previous snapshots do show the ‘grab thru’ handles… so I do hope its just the masking…

Look closely. Because it is white handle and surrounded by black tapes, it is quite distorted. I believe it is still the same grab-thru handle type that we saw on previous spy shot.

  • This morning a friend asked my o opinion about Myvi lagi best. I said, better wait for this P3-21A. After watch this video l don’t think this P3-21A will have a significant impact on best selling Myvi. Interior design so yesterday and design-wise not up to Hyundai Elantra MD or new Forte.

For the relatively small and unknown brand like Proton, good design inside out is important. We don’t have global engine to rely on, merely less-impressive Lotus-tune decal to woo new buyers. Sporty detached door mirrors, clever recline-able rear seating design like City on top of decent design (unlike Fiesta/Mazda2 sedan) is crucial to gamble in less fancy name of Proton.

I love or pity Proton BUT the design of our car (especially the interior, wheel steering) never done in the best effort. The interior designer really not up to international market.

dont worry my friend, protong will try the best to put the best looking/effort interior to customer by the lowest cost efficient. then they will sell the car with overpriced and all the buyer will happy when seeing this car will be sold at Arab Saudi with cheaper price than you bought…pity of malaysian…

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
        • lol pity you for being a ‘katak bwh tempurung’.

Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries are some fucking rich country, and has ridiculously low car tax. you even get a rebate for buying a new car. even Ferrari, Lambos, Bugattis, Mercs etc. over there are cheaper than in their country of origin.

it’s no surprise that majority of sports car owners and sports car destroyers are Arabs.
most accidents involving sports cars are done by Arabs.
the world’s first overheated ‘Range Rover Evoque that burst into big-ass flame’ owner is also an Arab.
Exotics cars scattered on the streets of London are also owned by Arabs. and all of ’em are Saudi/Dubai registered.

therefore, your argument is invalid. you want cheap cars? go to Saudi. or UAE. or take an arrow into the knee.

Paultan need this number to attract iklan and in the process keep this blog alive for our benefit. So keep the comment flow but please…no name calling, just exchange of idea and information. Even if you love any brand and will do anything to defend it, love your fellow human being more.

    Sekarang…Nak jugak rasa pakai kereta import….tapi apakan daya…terlebih mahal…
Harga Proton sendiri pun dah terlebih mahal….Nasib malang rakyat Malaysia….

        Nak jawapan ?

Walaupun kerajaan bleh bagi insentif bagai nak rak, tapi bila dah x kos effektif diorg blah cam tu je nak buat mcm mana? Dah terjadi dah kat sektor elektronik bila byk kompeni pindah dari Mesia kejar labour murah kat China.

So in the end, skill x dpt & duit kita kuar mcm tu je.

Thai n indo jadi pilihan bkn sebab prtn ada kat malaysia, kerana cost buruh kat sana murah. Tgk kat malaysia sendiri, manalah ada byk anak tempatan sanggup trime gaji mcm abangla n indon mahupun thais, kat restoran ke@kat sektor pembinaan. Termasuk jugak faktor2 lain.
Pembantu rumahpun payah nak jumpe org tempatan coz gaji murah. Yg kat restoran@kdai mkan tuh,aku bkn ckp psl tkg masak,tp yg amik order n basuh pinggan mangkuk. Aku tau pasal aku kenal tokey kedai makan, klu amik bdk melayu, 2-3 bln berhenti, komplen gaji kecik. Dia lebih rela amik org thai, walupun mahal coz permulaan, kerja rajin, psl gaji xpenah komplen.
Bukalah mata ckit. Klu x,dah lama t n h bukak kilang kat sini.
China jugak pilihan utama diaorang coz kos bahan, kos buruh n kos overhead murah.
Byk parts t n h dtg jugak dr china. Bukan itu sahaja, mcm2 brg skrg nih dtg dari china hatta yamaha sekalipun. Xsuka btl aku klu org malaysia nih ckp mcm org xberilmu. Membaca amalan kita.

Belajar pasang kereta SRP pun boleh, x boleh baca and cakap sepatah bahasa inggeris pun boleh pasang kereta.

Designing cars, doing erganomic design, wind testing, crash testing, stress testing, yg tu you need degree, masters, phd dalam designing, aeronautics, erganomics, materials etc. Sebab tu design studio banyak in the US dan UK tapi pasang kereta lagi banyak di Mexico. So nak gaji murah pasang kereta, nak gaji besar belajar design kereta. Capishh?

Klu penah baca dasar nap, byk kelebihan t n h nak bukak kilang n produce produk dia, siap bg incentive 50% waive dr local tax.
Tp apsal xnak, bukan masalah cukai coz sapa yg tanggung cukai? End user yg bayo, tp kerana faktor kos. Korang ingat korang beli kete, toyota n honda yg bayo duti import, excise n sales. Kita yg bayo, diaorg xkesahpun mahal@murah tax tuh.

Walau mmg mampu utk memiliki kereta import yang modern…saya masih lagi memberi harapan agar kereta waja tahun 2001 yg saya miliki terus berkhidmat utk saya. sepanjang tempoh pemilikan….tak pernah lagi buat hal kecuali kerosakan power window (sekali ja pon sebab anak suka main). setiap bulan hampir 5000 km perjalanan…kuantan, gombak, kelantan, perak…..

hmm, cakap kedai kopi, takde proton keta jadi murah…

      grow up bro!

it’s not as simple as that.
and it’s not only Malaysian govt protecting local brand.

Even the US govt and French govt, are protecting their local carmakers,
Just think about the cash outflowing from Malaysia to foreigners.
Just think about thousands of people who are now depending on P1 and P2, direct and indirect.

Do you think the Japs and Europeans will help to develop Malaysians engineers?
Do you think those will give you the best products? They’ll simply care about profits.

And i doubt the high price of imported car are solely P1’s fault.
P1 cars are imposed to tax as well.

Ask Naza, UMW, Sime Darby and other dealers on their margin…

If kampung Malaysia reject P3-21A how on earth global village will accept it? Myvi is a real jaguh kampung BUT they can achieve ROI sooner than they’re expected.

That’s why l really sick, when VW was denied to control Proton, then. Having said that, hopefully the P3 interior look good.

          • Should compare Suzuki-VW relationship because it is another Asian based carmaker …. Generally, German/European relationships are more successful than German/Asian relationships

Myvi has lower development cost because P2 incur minimal portion of the total development cost, largely absorbed by Daihatsu. Overall, most global auto OEM achieve about 2%-3% EBIT annually which is somewhere what P1 is currently achieving

    • lol very true. Westerners have very diff taste than us. most Malaysians love those cheap cars with those unnecessary stupid “aggresive-sporty race bodykits” but poor in performance, example: Myvi SE, Vios TRD, and those ‘editions/SE/LE’ kind of shit. Westerners love cars that looked tidy.

last week i show my Gen 2 CPS and another friend’s Neo R3 to my american and brit friends who drove mustangs, camaros, volks and some other top tier conti cars.

they said the car nicely designed, very modern, tidy and BETTER than average ‘Chevy/Toyota/Honda shit’ (they said that, lol). also “Swift Sport ain’t got shit on the R3, fun-wise” lol.

they also test drove an Inspira 2.0, they said ‘better than 2008-10 Lancer, a bit worse than 2011 Lancer’, but ‘handles better than both’. they don’t like the ugly rims and the nerfed audio system.

and guess what? for us Malaysians, the Savvy is a FREAKING UGLY car. surprisingly, for the Brits, its a very cute and nimble city car. and for them, ‘Tuah’ design is much better than those overrated Forte.

the brit guy said that the things that stopped the Brits from buying Protons are:
      – high engine emission (their tax are based on CO2 emissions). nice performance figs though
      – very well-designed interior, but “LOL TOYOTA QUALITY”
      – poor aftersales/customer support. “probably managed by some bollocks that don’t know shit about Protons” lol.
      – very good, tough chassis/body, but “2 airbags+ABS+EBD” only? that’s it? LOLWUT?”

i’m not insulting Proton, but they must fix these if they wanna go global. i hope, they’ll be fixed by the time P3-21A launches.

the design is as always not that ‘wow’
    to my dearest proton,
Please improve the design, don’t be too scared to produce a car like sonata, optima, honda city, crz, etc.
I think maybe they want to play like toyota, all design just like ‘playsafe’
but one thing you have to remember, you dont have a name like toyota, and your quality is not comparable to toyota

Plus! I beg you proton to change 100% your interior, it sucks a lot, hideous, look so cheap, i just cannot see the steering of persona etc, so cheap with plastics and very ‘china’ look…. even ‘china’ cars nowadays does not look like that… the dashboard also looks very cheap, small button for radio etc….

I know we all love proton cars, we always want to see the best from proton, but don’t be stupid of not criticising what proton did…. otherwise we will see proton going nowhere!

i am not a basher, i am a real patriot who want to see a glittering glamour of proton cars!

Agree with you. These days, all are revolutionized, including design. You see many use design to attrack customers, even when their quality is good and the engine is great. Kia is an example, with Schreyer. I’m not saying we should ignore the local guys but there’s no wrong in choosing this option. Proton is sooo close and yet so far in hitting the right spot. C’mon. The time now and the car is PROTON!

People left and right are telling proton to look at the koreans. Back in 2010 they announced a new design language and came out with 5 concept cars for KLIMS 10… one of them is Lekir which looked like Renault Scenic RX4. A disappointment. Beauty is subjective but people usually commonly agree on which one is cantik or not. Proton should take bashers more seriously and not simply dismiss them as trolls. Proton supporters are too kind. Proton is not young anymore. We can’t afford to let them syiok sendiri and bodoh sombong. So lets buy proton and support them when their products are good but when they screw up ..don’t held back and …maki kaw2. ok.

wanna see the interior so badly la…

have test driven the Bold… i think the plastics and overall design for the doorcards doorpanels, dashboards, steering wheel, center console are quite good and acceptable…

better than inspira, much much better than Persona. the steering wheel for Persona seriously not a good looking at all… took me months to “terima hakikat” lah… =P
and the inside door panel for Persona seem to be quite “melendut” when closing the door… why the hell is that can be happen..?

u see… one time, i realized that my car shampoo (Tupp’s brand to be exact; for the bottle dimension recognition) did not collapse at all… it just shift its position… i wrapped the bootle together with a pair of microfiber clothes with a plastic bag…. and nothing to hold the bottle from collapsing or shifting from its original position in the boot…. no other thing in the boot though… just the wrapped bottle

do u guys get the idea..? i mean, 140 – 150 km/h on Karak curves without having to use more than one lane… strictly on the outer-most lane… which to date, no modified Civic, Caldina GT, Golf GTi, Swifts, inspira, lancer, scirocco, audi r8, just to name a few (cewwahhh… =P) can keep up to stay in my stock factory Persona rearview mirror… even they madly zig-zagging and utilise the whole width of the road… which all the time they are…

and the bottle does not collapse… just shifting positions… the last time i check, the bottle contain no less than half of its maximum capacity…

i am not making things up… and i want to see the p321a interior so bad

i really mean no car can keep up la mate… seriously…

okay… those cars should probably perform better… but zigzagging and using whole width of the road itself placed the driver into uncertainties… the point you release gas paddle, downshifting, shifting weight, and accelerate…

because the traffics itself are uncertain…. Karak is no racetracks where u have to use the whole width of the tarmac to achive the highest speed…

I do agree on lack of quality in certain aspect of Proton but they are improving. This P3-21A will definitively Rock! cant wait to get my hands on it…
