MINI Vision Concept previews upcoming F56 hatch

MINI-Vision-0007

It’s no wonder that MINI was pretty upset the next generation MINI hatchback was prematurely unveiled devoid of any disguise – it had actually planned to show us a preview of the next generation car using this MINI Vision concept, finished in an exterior colour called Glamorous Gold.

The grille on the new MINI Vision Concept looks like an evolution of the one on the smaller Rocketman concept, and the round headlamps feature 100% LED power. The daytime running light function of the headlamps are implemented via lit outer rings.

The interior is previewed as well, although in this car it’s got concept car finishing that is expected to be significantly toned down for the production car.

As we saw in a spyshot of the interior before, the car loses the centrally mounted speedometer. Instead, the ‘clock’ in front of the steering wheel now houses the speedometer, with the rev counter moved to a semi-circle sticking out of the main speedo. We saw a glimpse of this new speedo+rev meter in the spyshots too.

  • Looks great, By making most of the key features(headlamps, tailamps) larger they’ve actually made an illusion thet the car is actually rather small, but I doubt this will be any smaller than the current Mini Cooper.

Looking good. A nice evolution of the Mini design. But why the blue/orange colours on the steering wheel and door innards. Shouldnt it have the Union Jack colours? :)

  • I like that better at the front than those spy shots on the real new MINI. Please MINI get rid of that bottom lip to the F56 it looks so poor.

As to the guy I just did a track Day driving the Toyota Gt86 and for the money it still looked to plain, great to drive if not apatch on the MINI. But somthing was missing from the looks. The inside the seats were positioned great but again very bland.
