Perodua Buddyz hatch rendered by Theophilus Chin

Buddyz-Hatchback-front

Perodua’s KLIMS13 concept, the Perodua Buddyz, is said to preview a possible upcoming Perodua sedan, and that if it ends up going into production, will slot in between the Myvi and the Alza in the Perodua range.

Since many car manufacturers use concept cars to preview future design directions, could Perodua’s Buddyz sedan concept be a preview of what next-generation Perodua cars such as the Perodua Myvi could look like?

Buddyz-Hatchback-rear

Rendering whiz Theophilus Chin has come up with a five-door hatch version of the concept. We think the Buddyz design actually looks pretty good as a hatchback, and most would agree even better than it was as a sedan body. The car’s sharp edges gives it a very modern feel.

The current-generation Myvi is still relatively new, and it hasn’t even gone through its mid-life facelift yet, so a replacement model is still very far off. The second-generation Myvi was first launched in mid-2011, and could see a mid-life facelift applied sometime next year.

  • AI-generated Summary ✨

Comments express excitement and admiration for the rendered design, with some considering it a better alternative to Perodua's current models and suggesting hiring the designer Theo Chin. Others compare the design to vehicles like VW Golf, Suzuki Swift, and Proton Emas, praising its proportions and futuristic appeal. A few critics are skeptical, questioning its resemblance to existing cars and emphasizing the need for more innovative, practical designs. Overall, the renderings generate optimism about potential future Perodua models.

  • That’s how you design a futuristic car, Perodua!

It’ll fail like Savvy too as Proton always screwed up in design.

If new Savvy GSC sales more than this new Myvi (buddyz hatchback) I’ll run naked from KLCC to Tanjung Malim and back.

But if not, you’ll run naked instead. OK???? Ha Ha Ha

Good. I think Buddyz concept really suitable to become a hatchback(replacement for Viva, Myvi, Kelisa or Kenari) and crossover(replacement for Kembara) while Bezza concept is suitable to become a sedan(new model for Perodua) dan small mpv(replacement for Alza).

Indeed rendered from Swift based and ends up looking like a boxy Swift. Theo works is better but when he transform the sedan into hatchback, he defeats the main purpose of the car to have bigger space bonnet compartment like it was previewed in KLIMS13. Nobody likes the original design though neither do i. If space is what Perodua looking forward to deliver in the future, why don’t they build bigger MPV or a Wagon. It is not that hard to think.

  • I really hope that Perodua considers producing a C-segment hatchback (like the VW, Golf, Ford Focus, proton suprimau, etc) as they know hatchbacks very well. It is only natural that this is the future of the next Myvi.
