You saw the Honda HR-V Special Edition JBL Audio yesterday; here’s the other Honda SUV aimed at music fans launched at GIIAS 2015 – the Honda CR-V Special Edition Fender Audio. It’s much like the HR-V JBL, but the audio system here is by the brand famous for the Strat and Tele.
Based on the top spec Honda CR-V 2.4L Prestige, the Fender edition adds on a six-channel amplifier and eight-speaker system that includes four tweeters to the seven-inch touch screen navi head unit. PT Honda Prospect Motor claims that the 248 watt Fender system delivers more characterful sound, a “surround sound” sensation plus deeper bass.
Sound system aside, the Fender CR-V gets a new front grille and Fender emblems on the tailgate, centre console and tweeters. As it’s based on the highest spec CR-V here, the Fender comes with a sunroof, powered tailgate and nanoe air purification among other things.
The Honda CR-V Special Edition Fender Audio is priced at Rp.487.5 juta (RM146,168) in Indonesia. There has be demand for better and/or branded audio in Indonesia for Honda to offer this and the JBL HR-V. Are there enough discerning Malaysians (who are willing to pay more) for such special editions back home?
