R35 Nissan GT-R rendered as BTTF time machine

R35-Nissan-GTR-Back-to-the-Future-01

Now this would be something Dr. Emmet Brown would likely consider if he went Back to the Future. With all due respect, the DeLorean DMC-12 time machine has indeed gained its place as the one that started it all. That said, Nissan has shared a modern version of what the time-bending vehicle could be in the form of an R35 Nissan GT-R.

Fully equipped with burners in the back and even a Mr. Fusion energy reactor up top, this future-going coupe will likely hit 88 miles per hour (141.6 km/h) faster than the DeLorean can, that’s for sure. The standard GT-R is powered by a 3.8 litre VR38DETT twin-turbo V6, that produces an uprated 550 hp and 630 Nm of torque.

Outside, you’ll be quick to notice the California-based name plate, “OMGTR,” while most of the R35’s features stay the same, save for a yellow rear light. The rear of the sports car has been chopped away so that the reactor and burners can fit. Wish we could have a closer look at the interior, where the actual time circuits are located on the centre console.

For your information, it’s Back to the Future day in the US, the same day Marty McFly first travelled to the future. Many auto brands have been jumping on the BTTF bandwagon including Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, while we suspect Volvo has been discreetly joining the fun as well. In any case, good one Nissan!

Wow, whoever rendered this did a marvelous job at insulting both the Nissan GTR and the Delorean Time Machine at the same time. Thanks for making 2 great icons into a piece of $h!t

If ever they were going to do another back to the future and use a different car, it would be refreshing to use another car other than the usual mustangs and camaros… the GT-R would be real cool in the movie.
