Custom Proton Perdana made for Tengku Sulaiman

Proton has handed the keys to a custom Proton Perdana over to HRH Tengku Sulaiman Shah Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, brother of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Sultan of Selangor.

Based on the Perdana 2.4L, the striking blue paintjob you see here isn’t available on the standard order sheet, which only includes the following: Graphite Grey, Sterling Silver, Ruby Red, Cotton White, Midnight Black and Citrine Gold.

Beyond that, the D-segment car also rides on larger 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels featuring blue hub caps. The wheels are an inch larger than the regular car, and wrapped with 225/40 Michelin tyres that are lower profiled than the regular 225/50 ones, giving the car a sportier stance. LED strips have also been added to the front and rear of the car.

As for the interior, there’s a new colour scheme featuring a beige headliner and trim, as well as grey leather seats with blue accents. Rear passengers will have access to tray tables in a wood finish, along with a multimedia player embedded into the front headrests.

Under the hood, the K24 2.4 litre DOHC unit with 178 hp at 6,500 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm continues to provide motivation, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission sending drive to the front wheels.

Can we find out how much Proton charged for this car? After all, Proton has taken RM1.5 bil of rakyat’s money, it is in our interest to know how Proton is doing business and how much they charge their cars, especially custom cars.

    • I especially cannot tahan that crass beige/grey combination *facepalm*. The interior of the Perdana 2.0 looks better with its black colour scheme.

If I’m Tengku Sulaiman, i will ask proton to turbo charged the 2.4l car to make it at least 250hp and get the suspension tuned too.

As with the 2.4, there is enough grunt to move the Perdana. If you are P1, will you turbo charge the Perdana & make yourself liable to warranties that will make a fool of yourself ??!

Not powerful enough for a very big, bulky car. This car needs turbocharging and a six speeder box. Looks bigger than a class D.

The blue colour is very nice. Since the base for the tray will cut into the rear legroom, maybe Proton should have stretched the wheelbase a bit. But that would have been a major job.

    • If you look carefully, the rear trays are not lift-type but instead they slide to their positions. So, HRH can still fold and unfold the trays quite easily without them hitting his knees or anything.

They got the exterior right, but the interior poorly thought out.

Omg. The interior is super bad. What is it with bolt-on foldable table? And the colour scheme too..

Haishh.. doesnt look wow at all, except with the colour.

Since it is for the royals, it doesn’t look like one.

  • If I am a super rich or VIP, I will not ride in this car because safety is my top concern. Same goes for our country leaders. Safety more important than promoting local brand on foreign product.
