GST zero-rated: Porsche prices down, by up to RM88k

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has announced new revised prices for its entire Porsche model range in line with the government’s announcement to reduce the tax rate of the goods and services tax (GST) to zero percent as of June 1.

The company says the new prices will remain in place until the re-implementation of the sales and services tax (SST), which is expected to return in two to three months time. It has already been mentioned that the SST rate will be set at 10%, the rate it was before it was replaced by GST. It was reported today that the return of SST might see an increase in car prices.

Following the revisions, the 718 Cayman now has a new base price of RM509,434, down by RM30,566 from that with GST in place. Meanwhile, the Panamera Turbo‘s base price is now RM1,462,264, a drop of RM87,736 from that previously. The base prices are for standard specification models, without options.

The revised prices include SDAP’s four-year warranty and free maintenance package, which includes complimentary service, parts and labour. The company also added that standard zero-rate GST implementation will also apply for parts and service carried out at all SDAP authorised dealers.

Even now lower prices, Porsche will have slower sales. This is because there is less corruption money going about.

Last time very easy, lots of undertable money. So, the receiver just come and pay cash for their Porsche

Now got lots of clean up going. Many lost their lucrative contracts, many lost their regular angpao. Lots of transparency now.

Porsche will see a huge slump in sales. Facts are facts
