GST zero-rated: Perodua prices reduced up to RM3.5k

Perodua has released new prices for all its models following the goods and services tax (GST) rate being reduced to 0% as of June 1. The changes will see Perodua vehicles on average being priced 5.6% lower than before, Perodua Sales MD Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said.

Savings start from RM1,344 for the Perodua Axia 1.0 Std E manual transmission, which means that the current OTR (without insurance) price of RM23,966 inclusive of GST for the model will now be RM22,622. The new Myvi variants are now cheaper, the drop ranging from RM2,492 less for the 1.3 Standard G manual to RM3,114 for the 1.5 Advance version.

Across the model line-up, the biggest difference is with the Alza 1.5 Advanced auto. Priced before this at RM63,390 OTR without insurance, the car will now go for RM59,818 with GST removed, making for a RM3,572 reduction.

On top of the zero GST, Perodua is offering rebates of up to RM800 for selected models and variants for the month of June. The company added that with the release of its new price list, which will be in place until the return of the 10% sales and service tax (SST) on September 1, its GST reimbursements for purchase, service and parts between May 18-31 comes to a close, as customers pay zero GST from June 1.

No such thing. As usual with your fake news. The only thing NEW Malaysia does not promote is buying 284 Birkin handbags priced from RM200k to RM1.6 million each.

The taxes, and consequentially the rebates, are in proportion to the cost of vehicle my friend. Rather than feeling like the govt is saving the rich, perhaps consider that they r making luxury more reachable for you and I?

What’s 2 Myvis compared to 1 Birkin? The price of 1 Birkin can buy more than 30 Myvis! Who do u think Malaysians rather subsidise? The corrupted or the rich?

Perodua sales will be big and boom from 1st June til 31 August. Good time for people to buy car at cheaper price. Just hopefully those who booked during June-August still entitle for 0% gst and exclude sst even though they have to wait few months for their car to be deliver.

Perodua now going to jump to 250,000 or 300,000 cars with such cheap prices.

Proton pulak, 5 months already passed, only sold 16,000 cars. This means, by year end, it will be a record at 40,000 cars.

And they said, in 2020, sales will be 200,000. That is 1 year 6 months time.

Cheap price, also comes with Bloody cheap cut corner spec and features (All of their new cars got NO water temperature meter that is very important – that so-called blue/red idiot light looks too cheap, crappy and useless. Other than new Myvee, majority doesn’t have VSC, Axai is worst, no ABS – buyers are forced to top up bloody huge RM10k just to get the same car with minimum acceptable spec)
