Perodua has officially introduced the 2018 Alza facelift, the debut of the seven-seater not unexpected following its reveal in the company’s Merdeka greeting and through a brochure leak a couple of days ago.
The compact MPV is available is Standard (MT), Standard (AT), SE (AT) and Advance (AT) variant forms. All are powered by the familiar 1.5 litre 3SZ-VE DVVT engine connected to a five-speed manual transmission on the Standard MT and a four-speed automatic transmission on all other variants.
New to all Alza variants are redesigned instrument panel graphics, a new-look centre cluster and a two-motion remote control key (press once to unlock driver’s door, double-press to unlock all doors).
Externally, only the SE and Advance variants get a new look, and this comes courtesy of a new front bumper with a larger lower intake – which repositions the fog lamps – and front parking sensors as well as a new twin-bar front grille and new two-tone side skirts. At the back, there’s a new, sportier-looking rear bumper with slimmer fins for the diffuser and a revised tailgate garnish.
Also part of the exterior updates is a new finish for the 15-inch alloy wheels on the SE and Advance, in titanium (the S variant retains a silver finish). Elsewhere, a new shade has been included in the body colour palette – Granite Grey, which is exclusive to SE and Advance variants, joins Electric Blue, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White on the list.
Inside, improvements have been made to the air-conditioning – the flow to the third row is now better thanks to new fixed fins between the front centre air vents, an improved evaporator and enhanced heat-exchange piping. Standard kit on all variants include front fog lamps, a rear spoiler, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, solar and security window film and reverse sensors.
In terms of updates, the Standard and SE variants get a new audio system with USB and Bluetooth functionality, while the Advance variant gets dressed with new-design leather seats and also features a roof-mounted monitor and an Android-based touch-screen multimedia system with Smart Link, Bluetooth, navigation and reverse camera functions.
On the safety front, the four-star ASEAN NCAP safety rated Alza still features dual front airbags and Isofix child seat points in the middle row. Previously reserved for the SE and Advance models, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and brake assist has been made standard across the range.
The 2018 Perodua Alza facelift range is priced at:
- Alza Standard (MT) – RM51,490
- Alza Standard (AT) – RM54,290
- Alza SE (AT) – RM56,890
- Alza Advance (AT) – RM62,690
All prices are on-the-road without insurance, and the Alza comes with a five-year/150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
The automaker has also for the first time introduced a range of unique GearUp accessories for the Alza, and items include exterior cosmetic add-ons, quilted seat covers and sun shades. The order books are now open for the 2018 Perodua Alza, which will hit showrooms nationwide in stages beginning September 6.

Exora facelift – add ESC and 4 airbags.
Alza facelift – cosmetics
Better buy Persona la..better safety features with the price..
100% Agree! That and Exora is better deal!
So how’s Exora sales?
Yeah, sales trumps everything else, even safety. Thanks for understanding needs of Malaysians!
Better than Sienta & Alza combined. Why u ask?
Who wanna buy exora now a day?
hahahha … siapalah nak beli exora. Skim Teks1m pun dah takda. Exora? …. hahahah
Ada je Exora baru on road, siapalah nak beli alza looks like someone pinches your cheeks. Setakat tambah HU kat kedai abang pun boleh.
Kalau Exora sales lebih tinggi, takdelah Proton kena jual bukan pada VW, jauh lagi pada Toyota, tapi pada syarikat dari China.
Persona is MPV bro? Hahaha! Wtf!
Well I did mention Exora right? Well, for the price tag, just take Persona into consideration since it does have better safety features. According to Perodua regarding Alza, ‘Kereta juga MPV’..
I hv a 2017 persona for sale, anyone interested?
Told ya.. No new engine.. No ESC.. Because this is just minor face-lift…. Wait the Suv if you want new engine
Exactly true. alza is Indah khabar Dari rupa
Perlu upgrade stering alza..tukar guna stering myvi yg baru..baru nmpak elok..stering axia pun elok lagi..tukar guna sport rim mcm myvi yg baru..
Speedometer until 220kmh?? Jatuh gaung pun, tak sampai la!!!
No ESC, sure jatuh gaung lor.
All ppl plz united and stop buying alza until they have a proper upgrade all new version.fyi. This alza is launched since 2009.
holy moly, the “car of the year” is finally here!!!
Yet another failure like its predecessor Nautica.
Facelift to clear stock la dey. Aiyoyo
This is not Proton that built stocks banyak-banyak even there is no buyer. The Japanese only keep barely enough stocks. This is why they don’t have stocks during Fukushima earthquake.
This is Perodua new post. Not Proton or Japanese news post. Please stick to the topic.
And yeah, Perodua sux bigtime for keeping Alza around. Totally unsafe.
Funnylah you. People talk about local cars, you go talk about Fukushima earthquake. Not related at all.
Have some respect for those who passed on in that disaster lar. Nothing related to them, why bring it here?
underpowered car. anytime a same capacity civic turbo can beat it flat.
Even Proton Suprima S and Perodua Myvi can also even beat Civic Turbo. Civic Turbo can’t even beat Proton Suprima S and Perodua Myvi at all
are you sure? just bring any of those cars you mentioned and we can bet.
Come on, do you expect Perodua to do major upgrades on a car they’re probably replacing in a year or two?
Ada upgrade cosmetic..lagi ok..dari update jual kat negara china..hahahahhahhaa
The Alza was build on the first generation Myvi platform, so the most they could do is giving a facelift or two, up until they come up with a replacement, the Alza will never have major upgrade/update/facelifts. It is beyond Perodua’s budget to alter and modify such an old platform. They actually can add ESC and all those safety features, it just cost too much that it might will not cover their spendings. Ever heard of Tesla? That is what happen to them right now, spendings way over their profit margin. Perodua is a small company, with limited range of market sells, a superior Alza facelift will never happen. The best people could do is stop buying the Alza and wait for a new MPV from Perodua.
design bru yg menarik..cuma nk bgthu kereta mlysia nie dye xupdate lg tknologi bru misalnye mcm push button start,,camera dash cam dan lain2 la tknologi bru stnding kereta luar negara..jgn hnye stay dgn tknologi lme..bkn hnye skdar design shje..sptotnye perodua mngikut trend trkini kereta..
