The 2019 update for the third-generation Proton Saga has just been launched, and in keeping with the theme of accessibility, the latest iteration of the Saga arrives in three variants – Standard MT, Standard AT and Premium AT.
All are powered by a 1,332 cc naturally aspirated inline-four cylinder petrol engine producing 95 PS at 5,750 rpm and 120 Nm at 4,000 rpm, with the base model employing a five-speed manual transmission while the Standard AT and Premium AT send drive to the front wheels via a Hyundai four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox – this replaces the previously used CVT. Fuel capacity across all three variants is 40 litres.
All are equipped with hydraulic power steering, while suspension is by MacPherson struts and a torsion beam axle front and rear respectively, with ventilated disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear. In terms of rolling stock, the Standard MT runs 14-inch steel wheels, the Standard MT wears 14-inch alloy wheels and the Premium AT employs 15-inch alloys.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Pity, in 2019, our Proton has no VSC. Pity Proton has no regard for our lives. Only people who can afford the Premium can have a safer Saga
https://paultan.org/2012/06/27/esp-stability-control-is-a-must-malaysian-motorists-deserve-better-active-safety-in-their-cars/
Proton desperate move.
Alot saga owner regret buying saga. After 2-3 yrs so much problem. Head gasket always got leaked.
Omg…the Hyundai gearbox is the same 4 speed auto supplied to Kia Picanto.
I know of a Kia picanto driver having a nightmare. The gearbox konk just after warranty expired.
Naza charge rm 25 k for a replacement!!.Most recond gear box specialists do not make this type of recon gearbox.
Proton should have got the… auto gear from Aisin, japan…Dr.Li…your mistake.
Your Alza pun sama saja, but it will take even more lives than Saga, buy Advance also no use because all variants have no ESC!
https://paultan.org/2019/07/17/perodua-to-continue-selling-alza-despite-suv-trend/
Proton always blame others for their own failure. Last time, they even blamed the RAKYAT for not being patriotic enough
lol perodua salesman..I dun think your real name is adib la macha
Dude….. R u Perodua salesman???? I don’t think you will buy
Talk so much Bezza also same. Now Saga is the cheapest car that comes with ESC & Traction Control. What talkin macha?
Excuse me Mr Shukor.. Safety in terms of Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist & Hill Hold Assist, is available for ALL variants.. ONLY Front Parking Sensor & Reverse Camera is not available for the Standard variant.. Do your research first before making a statement..
You’re the one didn’t do your homework, only advance has ESC, HHA & traction control…
local grads English not that good, please excuse people who cannot read properly
The handling is so good no need VSC hahaha . Most importantly follow speed limit and safe driving is most important
Copy paste: “Typical Perodua mentality, point the finger elsewhere. Instead of improving, they alwys say Proton do this and Proton do that”
Ahem, your Axia Advance same price with the Saga Premium but only have 1.0 engine and no ESC or traction control whatsoever.
The premium model is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control, sir.
Habislah! Don’t know what Proton is doing. Already clear that this sedan is already game over, Proton instead waste their money to update their game over sedan.
Game over Bezza coming soon
Habislah is correct but it will be you saying it, P2 troll. Proton’s next step towards toppling P2 is here.
Dear Geely, plese make your touch to our Preve, Suprema S and also Neo!! Bring their price down also. Be the true game changer!!
Yes.. I will sale my old myvi 2006 to buy new suprima s turbo with geely touch
I’m not sure how bad is the Proton CVT but i will see a big compromise technically to revert back to ancient 4AT in fact CVT had been introduced since Saga FLX. Is it really that bad or people just can’t accept/appreciate the smooth running behaviour of CVT? I’m driving Nissan Xtronics CVT and i love it, i don’t believe the Proton CVT is way too bad compare to it.
Not bad.. Just cheap built compares to other brand carrying cvt gearbox.. Proton use single clutch cvt.. Computer need to determine the exact time to engage/disengage clutch based on throttle input.. Others use torque converter cvt.. Which both torque converter and cvt are pricey.. For ppl understand how clutch works, proton cvt is not a big issue..
Why use 6AT or 8AT anyway when you got so little power to use them. Just stick to the basic and cheap for Saga, other more powerful car get others.
What the h&%ll is this sorry looking p.o.s?…ha ha ha
This will be your biggest nightmare…if you are a Perodua salesman. Are you one?
the steering design is awful.. looks big, not matched with compact SAGA.
Hot cakes~
kalau ak dpt saga , ambik yg base. pasang rim 15 taknak bagi besar sgt, tambah front dgn side skirt , belakang bagi muffler besar sikit, kasi lowered . aduhhh sumpah lawa keta ni.
The rim looks way better than the previous one:

Hyundai gear box is not reliable, proton make wrong decision choose their gear box manufacturer.
Hmm saga premium 5k cheaper than the bezza premium X. If only comes with timing chain engine and semi leather seat then will be perfect.
Bezza 45k premium X no VSC, adv 50k the idle start stop are useless.
Change back to 4AT is a right move.
45k can get a 3~5 years secondhand vios E.
Punch cvt also salah, Hyundai 4at also salah. Proton should sell a saga shell with old kancil 660 engine and Mercedes 8 speed G-Tronic just to get to the price point. Forget leather interior. Can’t even put car seat now. Want DCT for a 32.8k car. Wah Malaysian demand.
If you tried to read those critical comments (while avoiding their eye cancer), you can see a pattern where it really just comes from envious Perodua salesmen. Earlier they were harping on Punch CVT now Proton has changed, they continue to harp about it, ignoring the fact that their ow CVT takes eons to shift gears.
This is by far the greatest saga we can buy right now! try think from the first gen till now.. its a great deal honestly. The lowest spec are for pigi balik kerja type, the high spec are for daily – weekend family friendly type. I like it very much
The new saga body is much more solid than myvi. I would choose saga rather than myvi.
Baru perasan, walaupon utk premium spec. tiada “auto wing mirror fold”, yer ke?…
Stick a 1.6 engine and a manual gearbox into this car and become king of the segment.
Nak tnya, body saga 2019 ni ada besi HPF tak?mcm persona
