The upcoming 2019 Honda Civic facelift will be launched in Malaysia soon, and ahead of its official introduction the refreshed tenth-generation FC was previewed last weekend at Honda Malaysia’s “Road to 900k Grand Finale” event at Bukit Jalil.

Externally, changes are minor – the front grille’s wing extension is now finished in piano black, and the styling of the front bumper has been revised, with the black trim on the lower section now integrated into a single panel running across the width of the unit. At the back, there’s new garnish on the rear bumper, and a boot spoiler has been added.

There’s also a new 18-inch alloy wheel design, but it’s only available for the 1.5 TC-P variant, which is the range-topper in three variant line-up, the other two being the 1.5 TC and base 1.8 S. Both the 173 PS and 220 Nm L15B7 1.5 litre VTEC Turbo and 141 PS and 174 Nm normally-aspirated 1.8 litre SOHC mills seen previously continue on unchanged, and are paired with an Earth Dreams CVT.

The big news is the inclusion of Honda Sensing – the automaker’s suite of safety and driver assistance systems are made up of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). Also going on is a LaneWatch camera side-camera system.
