Porsche Cayenne facelift Malaysian prices announced

Last month, Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) launched the Porsche Cayenne facelift range, along with the 911 Targa, when it opened the Porsche Centre Sungai Besi in KL. Now, the official Porsche importer has released official prices of the luxury SUV range, which made its debut late last year at the Paris show.

Cayenne V6 starts from RM640,000
Cayenne Diesel starts from RM640,000
Cayenne S starts from RM760,000
Cayenne S E-Hybrid starts from RM770,000
Cayenne S Diesel starts from RM780,000
Cayenne GTS starts from RM900,000
Cayenne Turbo starts from RM1,150,000

Listed prices include duties, but exclude registration fee, road tax and insurance. The brand’s four-year factory warranty and a four-year complimentary service maintenance package apply. Also note ‘from’ in the price list – there are plenty of desirable options when ordering a Porsche, and these are base prices.

SDAP says that the plug-in Cayenne E-Hybrid price includes a Porsche universal AC charger. Average charging time is around 4.5 hours per full charge. A charging dock that can be mounted on the wall or floor is optional. Specs and pics of the refreshed Cayenne range here.

Porsche Malaysia and SDAC very greedy. The Cayenne in the US is US49,000. At this price, even Porsche USA already making huge margin and profit and that also after Porsche USA has paid government duty and tax.

Porsche Malaysia SDAC will get this car at cost price. Possibly US40,000 or below. Maybe even US$35,000.

Lets assume the high US40k. That is RM140k Malaysian. Our tax and duties max out at about 110% (both tax and duties)

      So, at most, RM300k

But the greedy SDAC want to cut your throat for RM650k

In the UK and all over Europe, car companies selling all sorts of brands, including Japanese brands like Nissan, Honda, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, all earn clean profit of just 2 or 3 thousand pounds per car.

Malaysia is the ONLY country in the world where car companies can earn RM350k clean profit on a car. They conveniently blame the high tax and make people confused.

        Very greedy GLC

It does not matter about the price now, with Macan in the market this fuel guzzler is not so relevant for Malaysian market anymore.

So, RV already very bad before this, now on worse !!

Najib najib, where is your promise to reduce car prices. This car few months ago RM570k. Now RM640k. Buta buta up by RM70k overnight.

This is pure greed. It will sell because in Malaysia, the rich cronies get easy money, so for them this is small change. The corrupted too find this as small change.

So this car will sell like hot cakes and SDAC knows this. They, being clever and wise are targeting the cronies and corrupted.

3 years ago it was RM550k. Then RM570k. Then jump to RM640k.

But Europe price (where it is made), still the same past 5 years.

RM ringgit just jatuh to US dollar. RM and Euro tak jatuh. Infact, Euro jatuh to RM Ringgit compared to 5 years ago.

So, despite Euro jatuh, and Porsche prices maintained by Stuttgart Porsche AG, Malaysia prices can naik RM70k!
