MG Motor Malaysia has confirmed that it will participate in upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, which will be happening at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in KL from June 12-21.
At an event on Tuesday to mark its second anniversary in our market, MG Motor Malaysia announced that Jozef Kaban, VP of global design at SAIC Motor, will be present at the MG booth at KLIMS to ‘share insights into MG’s design philosophy and evolving global design language’.
Kaban is a big name in automotive design, so this is quite a coup for MG Motor Malaysia and a rare opportunity for the Malaysian public. Famously known as the Bugatti Veyron’s exterior designer, the Slovak has worked at many Volkswagen Group brands and also had a stint at BMW. He joined SAIC Motor in 2024.
We last saw Kaban at Auto China 2025 in Shanghai, where he presented MG’s design philosophy and the Cyber X. Would that boxy SUV with pop-up headlamps make the journey here as well? That’s stretching it, but KLIMS visitors can expect to see a range of MG models not yet sold in Malaysia and a powertrain tech display, as MG is ‘set to showcase its latest developments and future direction’ at the show.

given MITI latest directive. Any future for such “mobility” in Malaysia ??
In the RM 80k to RM 150k price bracket for 2025–2026, Malaysian buyer preference has consolidated around C/D-segment SUVs, which offer the most modern features and perceived status for the money.
The estimated market choice ratio for this specific segment is 70% (2-Row C/D SUV) : 10% (3-Row C/D SUV/MPV) : 20% (C/D Sedan).
It’s happening that the bigger and the merrier powerful tech and comfort demand is growing strong.
