After being teased two weeks ago, the Jetour VT9 seven-seat D-segment SUV has been launched in Malaysia at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2025, in Comfort (RM119,350) and Prime (RM124,350) variants, OTR before insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. The first 800 customers get a RM2,000 rebate.

The Comfort gets all-LED lighting, cruise control, a 360 camera, TPMS, four airbags, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a cooled front centre armrest box, a D-shaped steering wheel that’s manually adjustable for rake and reach, shift paddles, 50W wireless charging, 19-inch alloys wrapped in 235/55 rubber, a six-way powered driver’s seat, four speakers, blue ambient lighting and a power tailgate.

The Prime adds on a panoramic sunroof, two more speakers for six in total, two more airbags for six in total, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane change warning, door opening warning, driver’s seat memory, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, plus front and rear door puddle lamps that project the Jetour logo onto the ground. No mention of auto emergency braking (AEB) nor adaptive cruise control (ACC), though.

The 4,724 mm-long, 1,900 mm-wide and 1,720-mm tall vehicle has the Chery Omoda 5‘s 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the gearbox is a six-speed wet twin-clutch auto. Wheelbase and ground clearance are respectively 2,720 mm and 144 mm.

Inside, you’ll find a 10.25-inch LCD twin-screen with voice command. There are four USB-A ports – two up front and two out back. The boot holds 89 litres with all seven seats up; fold the second- and third-row seats down for 1,680 litres.

Whether you take your VT9 in Star Black, Khaki White, Phantom Grey, Tech Grey or Aurora Green, you’ll get a seven-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty and five times’ free service (labour and parts). Jetour VT9 launching in Malaysia soon – 7-seat D-SUV, 1.5T from Chery Omoda 5, six-speed DCT, 2 variants?

You saw it at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024; now the Jetour VT9 has been officially teased on Facebook. The seven-seater SUV is a D-segmenter that sits above the recently-launched five-seater C-segment Dashing. Rivals include the Proton X90 and the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.

Unless things have changed since last year, for Malaysia, the 4,724 mm-long, 1,900 mm-wide and 1,720-mm tall vehicle should get the Chery Omoda 5‘s 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a six-speed wet twin-clutch auto. Wheelbase and ground clearance are respectively 2,720 mm and 144 mm.

The right-hand drive unit displayed then had full chrome window surrounds, full-width tail lamps, (fake) quad tailpipes, red exterior bits, roof rails and 19-inch two-tone alloys. It also had a twin-10.25-inch widescreen panel, shift paddles, a six-way powered driver’s seat, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 50-watt wireless charger, four speakers, a 360 camera and a powered tailgate.

If we’re still going to get Prime and Signature variants as intimated then, the pricier Signature should get a panoramic sunroof, driver’s seat memory, metal pedals, six airbags, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, rear cross traffic alert and door opening warning, while the Prime gets four airbags and AEB. Let’s look out for it at next month’s Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

Jetour Dashing on track for Q1 2025 Malaysia launch, 7-seater SUV in Q2 – 20 outlets opening this year

The Dashing will kickstart Jetour’s journey in Malaysia, launching in Q1

Jetour Malaysia had a Chinese New Year media event today and revealed ambitious plans for 2025, a big debut year for the Chery Group brand. As reported in November from the Jetour Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, the brand’s first two models for Malaysia are the Dashing and a 7-seat SUV, which will debut ‘after CNY’.

The latest update is that the bold-looking Dashing will debut first in Q1 2025, followed by a 7-seat SUV in the second quarter of the year. Jetour Auto International vice president Kevin Xu confirmed that the latter will have a different name in Malaysia compared to what it’s called elsewhere, to avoid confusion with another SUV.

All products will be CKD locally assembled after a small initial first batch, but Jetour’s APAC boss declined to reveal the company’s local assembly partner as it is a listed company and protocols must be followed.

Jetour’s seven-seater SUV will be launching in Q2

A new brand needs more than just new cars, and Jetour’s plan is to establish over 20 outlets nationwide this year, including more than 10 new facilities (3S and 4S) that will open in Q1. KL aside, the new brand’s network will cover key locations in Selangor, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. The company has already secured its supply of spare parts for Malaysia.

“2025 is a pivotal year for Jetour Malaysia as we embark on this exciting journey in Malaysia. Our goal is to become Malaysians’ preferred travel companion, offering vehicles that inspire adventure and embody our dedication to quality and innovation,” Xu said.

“With our expanding network of service outlets and comprehensive support infrastructure, we are committed to ensuring accessibility and reliability for our customers. These efforts reflect our commitment to building a strong and enduring connection with the Malaysian market,” he added.

Established in 2018, Jetour is a brand under the Chery umbrella, but it operates independently of Chery across the globe, and this will also be the case in Malaysia. Separate team, separate office, unlike Jaecoo Malaysia, which is closely linked to the mothership.

“Jetour’s entry into Malaysia represents a long-term commitment to fostering growth, driving innovation, and contributing to the local automotive industry. With its growing footprint and innovative product line-up, Jetour Malaysia is poised to deliver a year of endless adventures for Malaysian drivers,” Xu said, adding that the T2 and T1 ‘off-road’ models in Jetour’s portfolio will be next for our market, after the two ‘family SUV’ models.

The Dashing and its larger sibling were launched in Indonesia in November – see what our neighbours get.

Jetour 7-seat SUV launching in Q2 2025 after Dashing – different name in Malaysia to avoid confusion

We have a local update from Jetour. The last we heard from the Chery Group brand was in November at the Jetour Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, where Jetour Auto International vice president Kevin Xu told us that the Dashing and a 7-seat SUV will be launching in Malaysia ‘after CNY’.

Chinese New Year happens at the end of this month, and the brand’s plans are on track – the Dashing is slated for launch in Q1 this year, followed by its larger sibling in Q2 2025. Earlier, we reported that the 7-seat SUV will have a different name in Malaysia to avoid confusion with another SUV, and the change has now been confirmed.

Speaking at a CNY media gathering in KL today, Xu said that the 7-seat SUV will have a fresh name for Malaysia, which will be announced later. He added that all Jetour products for our market will be CKD locally assembled (initial batch will be CBU), including the T2 off-road SUV that is scheduled for a Q3 2025 introduction in Malaysia. However, Jetour’s APAC boss declined to reveal the company’s local assembly partner as it is a listed company and protocols must be followed.

    The 7-seat D-segment SUV powered by a 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5-litre turbo-four, paired with a six-speed DCT – full details here.

  • Jetour Dashing, 7-seat SUV launched in Indonesia, from RM115k – duo coming to Malaysia in early 2025

Jetour Dashing, 7-seat SUV launched in Indonesia, from RM115k – duo coming to Malaysia in early 2025

The Jetour Dashing and a 7-seat SUV have been officially launched in Indonesia, marking the start of sales for the Chery Group brand in the ASEAN country. This comes after the Jetour brand was introduced there at GIIAS 2024 in July, and a recent line-off ceremony – the cars are CKD locally assembled.

The Dashing is a five-seater that will compete in the B-SUV segment. Sized between a Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda CR-V, this Jetour has a Lamborghini Urus-style face and is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-four with 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm. Drive is sent to the front wheels via six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

In Indonesia, this ‘Performance Meets Style’ SUV comes in two variants – the Journey dan Inspira, priced at Rp 408.8 juta (RM115,506) and Rp 440.8 juta (RM124,547) respectively. These are introductory prices valid till the end of 2024, and early birds also enjoy three years of all-inclusive free service, 1,000 litres of petrol and two years of free insurance.

The 7-seat D-segment SUV is one that competes with the Proton X90 and group-mate Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. Under the hood is the same 1.5-litre turbo-four engine, which is also found in our Chery Omoda 5. But unlike the CVT-equipped Chery, the 7-seat SUV follows the Dashing in offering a six-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.

Jetour T1 (top row), Jetour T2 (bottom row) – click to enlarge

This Jetour is also offered in two variants for Indonesia – the Rp 434.8 juta (RM122,832) Journey and the Rp 465.8 juta (RM131,590) Inspira. All Jetours in Indonesia are covered by a 10-year or one million km engine warranty, on top of a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty.

It’s the same pattern for Malaysia, where the Jetour brand was introduced to the public earlier this year at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. Then, the Dashing and 7-seat SUV were previewed, and we’re told that these two models will be launching locally ‘after Chinese New Year’. As CNY 2025 is in late January, Jetour’s SUVs could reach showrooms as soon as February 2025.

This was revealed to paultan.org by Jetour Auto International vice president Kevin Xu at the recent Jetour Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, China. Xu also said that all Jetour products for Malaysia will be CKD locally assembled, including the Land Rover Defender-style T2 off-road SUV that is scheduled for a Q3 2025 introduction. The T1, with its slightly softer and more urban looking bodystyle, will come after the T2.

However, Jetour’s APAC boss declined to reveal the company’s local assembly partner (it won’t roll off Chery’s Shah Alam plant) as it is a listed company and protocols must be followed.

By the way, Jetour is a brand under the Chery umbrella, but it operates independently of Chery across the globe, and this will also be the case in Malaysia. Separate team, separate office, unlike Jaecoo Malaysia, which is closely linked to the mothership. This means that Chery’s Omoda 5 and Tiggo SUVs, as well as Jaecoo’s offerings, will be counted as rivals, along with Proton’s Geely SUVs and the Japanese incumbents.

  • Jetour Dashing and 7-seat CKD SUVs launching in Malaysia ‘after CNY’ – T2 off-roader Q3 2025, T1 later

Jetour Dashing and 7-seat CKD SUVs launching in Malaysia ‘after CNY’ – T2 off-roader Q3 2025, T1 later

The Jetour brand – which was previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 in May – will be officially launching its first two models in our market ‘after Chinese New Year’ next year. As CNY will be in late January 2025, Jetour’s SUVs could hit the market as soon as February 2025.

This was revealed to paultan.org by Jetour Auto International vice president Kevin Xu at the ongoing Jetour Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, China. Xu confirmed that the two models are the Dashing and a 7-seat SUV, both of which were previewed in May.

Xu said that all Jetour products for our market will be CKD locally assembled, including the T2 off-road SUV that is scheduled for a Q3 2025 introduction in Malaysia. However, Jetour’s APAC boss declined to reveal the company’s local assembly partner as it is a listed company and protocols must be followed.

By the way, the T2 is a butch-looking off-road SUV that has the ‘retro modern’ 4×4 look carried by the Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco. Jetour claims that it sells an average of 15,000 units of the T2 a month in China – that’s double the volume of the GWM Tank 300, and enough to make it the leader in the ‘boxy SUV’ market. The T2 is the brand’s hot product of the moment and overseas distributors are reporting high demand and long waitlists.

Jetour T1 (row above), Jetour T2 (row below); click to enlarge

The T1 is similar to the T2 at a glance, but has slightly less ‘hardcore’ styling – the difference is more apparent in its rounder rear end, which lacks the ‘spare wheel’ on the tailgate. The T1 will also come to Malaysia, but it will be after the T2 and it will be positioned slightly lower as the more ‘urban’ model.

The T2 and T1 are the ‘off-road’ models in Jetour’s portfolio, which will be joined by the T5 model domestically in October 2025. The Dashing and 7-seat SUV are in the ‘family SUV’ side of the range – click on the links for full details on the duo.

By the way, Jetour is a brand under the Chery umbrella, but it operates independently of Chery across the globe, and this will also be the case in Malaysia. Separate team, separate office, unlike Jaecoo Malaysia, which is closely linked to the mothership.

    Jetour 7-seat SUV previewed in Malaysia – D-seg, 1.5T

Making its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 is the Chery group brand Jetour, which has revealed the two cars it will sell on our shores initially. Here, we’re focusing on a seven-seater D-segment SUV that competes with the Proton X90 and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.

Two variants will be made available in the second half of the year, these being the Prime and Signature. No matter which version you go for, the 7-seat SUV measures 4,724 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,720 mm tall, with a wheelbase spanning 2,720 mm. Ground clearance is fairly modest at 144 mm.

Just one engine has been earmarked for Malaysia – a 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 150 PS at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm. This is the same mill that powers the Chery Omoda 5, albeit with a six-speed wet dual-clutch transmission instead of a CVT.

    Jetour 7-seat SUV previewed in Malaysia – D-seg, 1.5T

This SUV is quite an old car now, having been around since Jetour’s formation in 2018. The Plus suffix denotes a comprehensive facelift (not the latest one shown in Beijing last month) that adds shapely headlights, a large hexagonal grille, full chrome window surrounds, full-width taillights and (fake) quad tailpipes. Both models come with automatic LED headlights, red exterior highlights, roof rails and 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

On the inside, you get a Mercedes-style widescreen panel with twin 10.25-inch displays, plus a slimmer separate screen for the air conditioning. As standard, you get keyless entry, push-button start, paddle shifters, cruise control, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50-watt Qi wireless charger, four speakers, a 360-degree camera system and a powered tailgate.

Stepping up to the Signature nets you a panoramic glass sunroof, driver’s side seat memory and metal pedals. In terms of safety, the Prime comes with four airbags and autonomous emergency braking, with the Signature adding curtain airbags (six airbags in total), blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, rear cross traffic alert and a door opening warning.

  • Beijing 2024: Jetour 7-seat SUV facelift, PHEV versions of the T2 light off-roader and L6 SUV on display

Beijing 2024: Jetour 7-seat SUV facelift, PHEV versions of the T2 light off-roader and L6 SUV on display

Jetour’s booth at this year’s Auto China featured a few new models, some of which we’ll be covering in this post. The sub-brand of Chery has already announced it will make its public debut in Malaysia next month, with the Dashing and a 7-seat SUV set to be first cars to be launched in the second half of 2024.

    Jetour 7-seat SUV facelift

In China, the 7-seat SUV received a major facelift this year that brings with it an overhauled front end featuring a large grille with horizontal slats. This is also where you’ll find the main headlamps, with the daytime running lights now being a light strip that runs just beneath the bonnet line.

The changes at the rear are less substantial, with the taillights sporting a new graphic, while the bumper has been tweaked to include corner fins, bold chrome trim and rectangular exhaust trim finishers.

Inside, the updated 7-seat SUV gets larger dual displays along with a revised dashboard and more prominent chrome air vents. The third touchscreen for the climate system remains unchanged, but the centre console receives a fancy glass-look gear selector.

In terms of powertrains, the new-for-2025 7-seat SUV is available with a 1.5 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine making 156 PS (154 hp or 115 kW) and 230 Nm in China. This is paired with either a six-speed manual or DCT to drive the front wheels. There’s also a 1.6 litre unit making 197 PS (194 hp or 145 kW) and 290 Nm which is paired with a seven-speed DCT, also driving the front wheels.

    Jetour L6

A recent addition to the line-up, the L6 is part of Jetour’s Shanhai of new energy vehicle (NEV) series in China. Previewed by the X-2 concept at last year’s Auto Shanghai, the L6 will be offered with plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains, according to CarNewsChina.

The former is said to be Chery’s C-DM system with a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor for a hybrid range of up to 1,400 km – little details about the EV variant for now. The L6 is reportedly the NEV variant of the Dashing and should share the same dimensions of 4,590 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,685 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm.

Moving inside, the interior of the L6 isn’t too dissimilar from the Dashing, with a large touchscreen occupying the dashboard. There’s also an identical steering wheel, while a small digital instrument cluster is integrated into the wide-width trim ahead of the driver. One difference is the centre console, which is connected to the air vents in the L6 but is separated in the Dashing.

    Jetour Shanhai T2

The T2, also known as the Traveller, isn’t new in Jetour’s line-up, but the car shown at the company’s booth in Auto China is the plug-in hybrid version. Launched at the show with a price range of between 179,900 and 209,900 yuan (about RM118k and RM138k), the PHEV version is also part of the Shanhai series.

In terms of specifications, the T2 is equipped with a 1.5 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine making 156 PS (154 hp or 115 kW) and 220 Nm. This is paired with a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and electric motor, the latter rated at 224 PS (221 hp or 165 kW) and 390 Nm for a total system output of 381 PS (375 hp or 280 kW) and 610 Nm.

Two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are offered, with the first being a 26.7-kWh unit that provides up 100 km of electric-only range following the WLTC standard (129 km CLTC) and enabling a top speed of 197 km/h. The second option is a 43.24-kWh unit that ups the EV-only range to 161 km (208 km CLTC), while the top speed is increased to 210 km/h. In hybrid mode, the maximum comprehensive range possible is 1,300 km.

Jetour didn’t list exact charging capacities on its official website, but it did state the Shanhai T2 can handle both AC and DC charging. It also comes with a vehicle-to-load function capable of delivering up to 6.6 kW, with another external power supply in the boot that can output 2.2 kW.

Jetour to make public debut in Malaysia next month – Dashing and 7-seat SUV launch set for H2 2024; CKD

Chinese automaker Jetour will make its public debut in Malaysia next month at the Malaysia Autoshow, with the Dashing and a 7-seat SUV set to be put on display. According to a local Jetour representative, both SUVs are still on track to be launched here in the second half of the year as locally-assembled (CKD) offerings.

If you haven’t heard of Jetour before, it is one of two Chery sub-brands that have been announced for Malaysia, with the other being Jaecoo. Jetour had set up office in Malaysia a few months ago as a separate company from Chery Malaysia with an independent management team, so it will compete against Chery (together with Jaecoo) here.

Focusing on the Jetour cars we’re bound to see in Malaysia soon, the Dashing is a five-seat SUV that is the first to be built on the company’s Kunlun architecture. Measuring 4,590 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,685 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, the Dashing is sized between a Honda HR-V and CR-V.

In China, the Dashing is offered with a choice of two turbocharged inline-four petrol engines. The first is a 1.5 litre unit rated at 156 PS (154 hp or 115 kW) and 230 Nm of torque mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels. Meanwhile, the second option is a 1.6 litre unit making 197 PS (194 hp or 145 kW) and 290 Nm which is paired with a seven-speed DCT, also driving the front wheels.

    Jetour Dashing

The SUV is also available with a i-DM (intelligent-Dual Motor) plug-in hybrid system that uses the 1.5 litre turbo-four engine as a base. This is augmented by an electric motor rated at 170 PS (168 hp or 125 kW) and 315 Nm for a total system output of 326 PS (322 hp or 240 kW) and 545 Nm.

Power for the electric motor is supplied by a ternary lithium battery with an energy capacity of 19.27 kWh, which is good for an electric-only driving range of up to 80 km following the WLTC standard. Like the non-PHEV variants, the i-DM model is front-wheel drive but it uses a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

As for the 7-seat SUV, it is a three-row D-segment car that’s much larger than the Dashing at 4,749 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,720 mm tall and having a wheelbase spanning 2,745 mm – the CR-V is smaller by comparison.

    Jetour 7-seat SUV

Like its smaller sibling, the 7-seat SUV is offered with a selection of powertrains in China, the first being a 1.5 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine making 156 PS (154 hp or 115 kW) and 230 Nm. This is paired with either a six-speed manual or DCT to drive the front wheels. The second option is the Dashing’s 1.6 litre turbo-four and seven-speed DCT pairing with the same output figures. There’s also a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol with 254 PS (251 hp or 187 kW) and 390 Nm, which remains front-wheel drive and with a seven-speed DCT.

As previously reported, the Dashing and 7-seat SUV were chosen for Malaysia first because they are already available in right-hand drive form – both are currently produced and sold in Indonesia. Moving forward, the T2 (also known as the Traveller) will be added to the local line-up when right-hand drive production begins sometime in July or August.

The T2 has a more rugged, off-road look and is offered with two powertrains in China, including a 1.5 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine with 184 PS (181 hp or 135 kW) and 290 Nm, paired with a seven-speed DCT driving the front wheels. There’s also a 2.0 litre turbo-four making 254 PS (251 hp or 187 kW) and 390 Nm, which gets all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DCT.

Jetour coming to Malaysia H2 2024: from Chery group; Dashing, 7-seat SUV launch this year; EVs planned

Chery has entered the Malaysian market guns ablaze, with its main marque already firmly established here and its lifestyle-oriented Jaecoo brand launching very soon. But it’s not done yet – a third brand is being prepared for a local entrance here, and it’s Jetour.

The SUV brand is set to debut in the second half of the year, not too long after Jaecoo. But hang on – aren’t Chery and Jaecoo already SUV brands in their own right? Yes, but in Malaysia at least, Jetour and Chery (and Jaecoo) are being managed by two completely separate entities, so they will end up being competitors in the same turf.

Jetour SUVs are also slightly upmarket compared to Chery’s, something that will be borne out by the vehicles that will be brought in. This year will see the launch of the five-seater Dashing and a 7-seat SUV competing in the C- and D-segment crossover markets respectively.

    Jetour Dashing

The Dashing is the newer of the two, based on Jetour’s own Kunlun architecture. This sleek, premium-looking SUV has shades of Lamborghini Urus and Maserati Grecale in its design, plus a chrome window/D-pillar strip and flush pop-out door handles. Inside, you get a floating infotainment touchscreen measuring up to 15.6 inches, a flat top and bottom for the steering wheel and even an outside temperature display on the doors.

But while the Dashing looks different from a Chery and Jaecoo on the outside, the mechanicals are very similar. You get the choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines – a 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5 litre mill from the Omoda 5 or a 197 PS/290 Nm 1.6 litre unit from the Tiggo 7 Pro and Jaecoo J7. Unlike the Omoda 5, the Dashing’s 1.5 litre engine is paired to the same seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission as the 1.6 litre version, rather than a CVT.

The same is true for the larger 7-seat SUV, which gets the same 1.5 and 1.6 litre turbo and DCT combo, as well as the 256 PS/390 Nm 2.0 litre turbo from the Tiggo 8 Pro. This car has been around since Jetour’s formation in 2018; the Plus in its name denotes a comprehensive facelift that adds shapely headlights, a large hexagonal grille, full chrome window surrounds and full-width taillights.

    Jetour 7-seat SUV

On the inside, you get a Mercedes-style widescreen display panel with a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen, plus a Land Rover-esque separate display and physical dials for the air conditioning.

Both these cars were chosen for its Malaysian debut because they are the first to be converted to right-hand drive, with small-scale production having already kicked off at the end of last year for us and Indonesia. The company will hit the ground running with CKD local assembly from the start (just like Jaecoo) so that it can compete with others in the segment in terms of price.

Beyond that, Jetour plans to introduce the Traveller (also known as the T2), a rugged crossover that bears similar styling to the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender. The company had planned to bring the car in together with the other two, but production of the RHD variant had been delayed and is now only scheduled to start in July or August.

    Jetour Traveller

Taking into account CKD tooling and the usual validation and approval process, the Traveller is slated to go on sale in Malaysia next year. There are also plans to enter the electric vehicle market via a yet-to-be-announced sedan, although no details have been set in stone.

Jetour had set up office in Malaysia a few months ago as a separate company from Chery Malaysia with an independent management team. Since then, it has been in constant engagement with government agencies such as the ministry of finance, ministry of international trade and industry (MITI) and the Road Transport Department to obtain the necessary approvals for the Dashing and the 7-seat SUV.
