An RHB research report has revealed that five new Mazda models are scheduled to arrive in Malaysia in the next three years, beginning with the new Mazda 2, expected in the fourth quarter this year.
That’s quick, considering the Hazumi Concept (pictured), meant to point towards the next-gen Mazda 2, has just shown up at the ongoing Geneva show. The report adds that the new B-segmenter will be built in Thailand and be available in sedan and hatch bodystyles. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the vehicle will have SkyActiv tech.
Another revelation is that the new assembly facility located within Inokom’s Kulim plant is expected to be fully commissioned next month, on schedule. Trial production has already begun, and by the end of this year, production capacity should reach 20,000 units per year.

Wow..Impressive..I wonder why they are not doing the same with Mazda 3? maybe they wanted to discuss more about the EEV incentive which is reveal in the NAP with MITI…so they can reduce the price…wild guess..
I thought the previous report said launch in 2015?
Truly one of the most good looking car out there, beats concept from BMW or Audi lately.
The back reminds me a lot of Alfa, which is good as Mazda and Alfa is known to design the best looking cars out there.
Combined with Mazda’s godly reliability, technology which makes Germany engineer wet their beds and excellent fuel consumption, this car will take the world by storm!
Mark my words!
sleek design indeed.. RM?
Anyone know what engine will this car gets? One would assume the 1.5L skyactiv, while a lot of torque for a 1.5L, it’s not exactly hot hatch territory isn’t it?
Mazda is coming with a vengeance.
Unexpected indeed. Would love to take this car for a spin. Proton GSC, please exit stage left…
Looking forward for this car to launch in Malaysia.
Mazda know how to build a good and reliable cars.
Awesome design with awesome handling!!

Will seriously consider this car if the price is the same as the current mazda 2
