According to IndianAutosBlog, Honda Cars India will reveal a facelifted Honda City by Deepavali this year (end October 2016). However, don’t get too excited yet because it remains unclear if this update will be native to the Indian market or if it will be sold elsewhere.
As the report goes, the City, launched in India in 2014, was last updated there with a new black interior on a variant known as the City VX. This time around, it is said that Honda will be working the changes on the model’s exterior as well as on a few equipment upgrades.
The Honda City range in India currently starts from 1,100,000 rupees (RM67k). The Indian City range consists of a 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine, mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT auto transmission. The publication also anticipates that its local-market City will feature the new six-speed manual transmission from the Honda BR-V.
In Malaysia, the Honda City’s last update was to its pricing, with all models now listed at slightly higher than before, inline with Honda Malaysia’s announcement of price increases across its model range. Prior to that, the local-spec Honda City was made available with a new Dark Ruby Red Pearl body colour.
