KLIMS18: Perodua Myvi GT – sporty hot hatch concept

Of the three cars on display at Perodua’s KL International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2018 booth, only the Perodua Myvi GT is out in the open without any cover. The others displays are Perodua X-Concept and the boxed peep hole display of the company’s new SUV.

“The Myvi has been the ‘Love of the Nation’ for over a decade, but never have you seen one quite like this. With the Myvi GT, we are exceeding expectations of urban compact car design – creating the sportiest, boldest Myvi yet,” Perodua says.

The Myvi GT is an eye-catching sporty concept of how the current Myvi might look like as a “hot hatch”. The front bumper is an aggressive thing, with full-width mesh treatment and a prominent front splitter with a red pinstripe. The latter is repeated on the side skirts and lower rear bumper – a red line is also on the grille and goes into the headlamps, Mk7 Golf GTI-style. LED daytime running lamp strips sit above the “side intakes”.

KLIMS18: Perodua Myvi GT – sporty hot hatch concept

On the sides, the wheel arches are more pronounced on the GT, and there’s even a sunroof. The car’s low stance goes well with the 17-inch Y-spoke gunmetal rims wrapped with 205/40 Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 rubber.

Of course, no one would miss the Brembo calipers (two-pot front, single-pot rear) gripping cross-drilled brake discs. The rear end features a bold tailgate spoiler and twin exhaust pipes that poke out from the bumper. There’s also an F1-style brake light in between.

“The Myvi GT has been revamped to be as sporty inside as it is on the outside. It features leather bucket seats, a unique D-shaped steering wheel and dynamic trims that project boldness to all who step in,” Perodua says of the Myvi GT’s cabin.

It’s a dark cabin full of red accents. Bright red features on the upper dashboard surround, gear lever surround, and the lever itself. The bucket seats sport red centre spines to match the above-mentioned. Red stitching can be found on the seats, door cards and steering wheel, which looks very VW. Alcantara is dominant here, and can be found covering the dashboard, seats, steering wheel and door inserts.

Of course, this is merely a styling exercise to inspire owners and tuners – don’t expect such an extreme Myvi to reach showrooms. What do you think?

So much VW’s elemento in it, even the steering wheel are from VW. Surely an inspiration to Myvi’s Ahbengs. The steering wheel alone adds up 240bhp and 265nm of torque.

With that agressive look, make sure the power is up to mark too. No point having a fierce look but with the engine still producing a puny horsepower only.
Perhaps P2 should turbo charged the engine.
    Then only start talking…

This already looks promising. If they stuff this thing with a Supercharged 1.8L Yaris GRMN engine, it would be an awesome combination for a hot hatch. Don’t come here telling me a turbo 1.5L is a better option because got petrol subsidi, bruh orang yang beli kereta macam ni apa kisah dengan subsidi minyak. Mampu beli kereta mahal mampu beli minyak mahal, not that Myvi is an expensive car but anyways. Lol.

You can turn off everytime you start your engine or they can design it to remember you last settings like the one on my Honda PCX scooter. which one you prefer? The car is made to serve you, what mentality is to call oneself malas just because one think the feature can be better design to make you life easier.
