The investment, trade and industry ministry (MITI) has deployed 27 units of the Proton eMAS 7 EV as the official transport for the 3lst ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Retreat in Desaru, Johor, Bernama reports.
“Currently, the vehicles are being used to transport delegates for the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) meeting and the Preparatory Senior Economic Officials Meeting (Prep-SEOM),” the MITI transport secretariat told the news agency on Wednesday.
The AEM Retreat and its related meetings are taking place in Desaru from February 22-28, beginning with the 12th ASEAN Economic Community working group meeting (February 22-23), followed by the HLTF-El meeting (February 24-25), Prep-SEOM (February 26-27) and the AEM Retreat (February 28), which will be chaired by MITI minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
61 units of the eMas 7 were previously used as official vehicles to transport key officials at the ASEAN SOM meeting during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM) in Langkawi in January.
