Auto Bavaria in RM30 million upgrade exercise

ab_segambut.jpg

Sime Darby Group subsidiary Auto Bavaria is allocating RM30 million for the purpose of upgrading it’s branches nationwide. There are new BMW international corporate identity standards so the branches are being upgraded with new facilities which match the new standards. Once the upgrade exercise is done, all Auto Bavaria branches will include comfortable waiting lounges and business centres with wireless Internet access.

Service centers will have higher capacity, “fast lanes” for quick service and repairs taking less than two hours. Three branches have been upgraded so far: the Segambut, Sungei Besi and Kuantan branches, which included moving the Kuantan branch to a bigger and more strategic location.

The Segambut branch which services between 300-400 cars a month now offers extended service hours of 7am to 10pm, which was previously the normal 8am to 5pm and has doubled in size to 68,000 square feet. The Sungei Besi branch now offers pick-up services for customers who have no time to send the cars in for servicing themselves. Branch and head office in Glenmarie is scheduled for upgrading early next year, while branches in Penang, JB, and Bukit Bintang will be upgraded within 2007.

    Wahlaueh….

    excellent….Auto Bavaria….

Again as comparison…still come back to P1.

So, imagine if P1 use the $$ lost in invested motor company to upgrade all service centers…. to have more equipments… tyre balancing….etc.. higher skill workers…. No use for current 'xx points checking' all bullshiting only. 'syok' then check…if many cars & lazy then they won't checks.

That's the difference between luxury cars and budget cars. You pay for what you get.

i think its just normal progression for bmw, not because of lexus.. lexus is still far off from bmw. but i think in 2-3 years, they will be challenging bmw head on, but not currently..

kody, why do you wanna waste time even mentioning P1.

Its an excellent idea for AB to set up a fast lane for less than 2 hours' repair work. Make no sense if you need to car to be overnight just because you wanted the rear bulb to be changed, right?

As the volume of cars sold becomes more, after sales service must be equivalent big too to ensure existing customers are satisfied with their services, and therefore recommends others to buy. No point if you have a golden smile at the front end, but not improving at all at the rear of the office.

All cars dealers must realise by now that after sales is the most important part of the success or not of a their brands.

Having a wonderful workshops must also comes with wonderful staff and reasonable price. Since the ownership of such cars is almost equivalent to a owning a double storey house, maintanance should not be a pain too.

I thought Lexus already better (in quality and design) than BMW ?

Just that the Lexus name is not really that well known yet.
