最近网络上流传一则信息，指有人在特定的几间Shell油站添加RON 95和RON 97汽油时，分别被征收RM4.09和RM4.65的超离谱高价，远比目前RON 95每公升RM2.08和RON 97每公升RM2.36的价格要高上不少。
这则信息在短短数小时内就在网络上被大肆疯传，不过Shell Malaysia事后发表文告急忙作出澄清，指确实出现一些油站向消费者征收高于市价的汽油零售价，不过这是因为油站的电脑系统在今日（周三）凌晨12时01分到1时30分之间进行油价更新时，因为系统失误导致油站向消费者征收了错误的油价。
该公司表示，他们在发现这项失误后已经及时采取补救措施，并修正电脑系统存在的错误，同时该公司也呼吁那些因此而被逼付高价添油的消费者翻查他们的单据，并可返回同样的油站讨回差价。
We discovered an issue with our price update last night, and this has been rectified immediately. Unfortunately, some 160 transactions that took place between 12.01am and 1.30am on May 18, 2017 were affected. If you have filled up at any of our stations during that time period, please kindly check your receipt, and do bring it back to the station where you made the purchase for reimbursement of the difference.
