Konichiwa from Tokyo! We’re at Honda’s 2013 Tokyo Motor Show stand, where the carmaker has just pulled the covers off its B-segment SUV based on the third-gen Honda Jazz.
Previewed by the Urban SUV Concept in January, the productionised car is called the Honda Vezel, and it’s claimed to fuse together the “dynamic qualities of an SUV, the elegance of a coupe and the functionality of a minivan”.
Japan will get both hybrid and petrol, as well as 2WD and 4WD versions – the 4WD hybrid model, pictured here, is equipped with the one-motor Sport Hybrid i-DCD system, which means it should share the same 110 PS/134 Nm 1.5 litre i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine, the same 29.5 PS/160 Nm electric motor, the same seven-speed twin-clutch ‘box and a lithium-ion battery.
More details about the Honda Vezel will be announced on December 19, and the vehicle will go on sale in its home market the following day. The burgeoning B-segment crossover brigade includes the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Chevrolet Trax, Ford EcoSport and Peugeot 2008.
lol..now sushi start to copy kimchi…
Vajazzle..?
I saw that too… and went… urrr… RIGHT!
Vezel and Jazz
Seen to me like an overkill design.
Proton not joining there? Booth space is not big enough??
Wow! Really nice! Hopes that it will be introduced in Malaysia with the price lower than RM100k >_<
honda always more creative.
ya only after seeing the successful Korean…
I think they r a bit off in terms of design (korean cars design is superb). n i expect them to do d same too.
pls come to malaysia. if prie below 130k i’d buy it!
Somehow the rear reminds me of the Ssangyong SUV. Was it actyon or somethin’?
Luv the exterior but the interior door panel and the seat a bit on the let down. but there is a HDMI input….that’s interesting.
Mazda CX-5?
Something different, esp. the side cutting line. Good job, Honda!
Hi Paultan team, any news about the all new 2014 honda city there?

Honda finally responds to the mass complaints on the passenger seats not getting enough ventilation, look at those AC vents!![sarcasm, for those who didn’t get it]
Anyways, personally, nice design, not handsome/pretty, just nice. It has a typical Honda looks of looking rather sporty but doesn’t shout about it, and there’s a nice touch with the rear door handles. But the interior is where it shines for me, clean and simple with little cubby holes here and there. From the pictures, materials looks good with alot of soft-touch pastic(Honda learned the hard way with the Civic FB in US).
Overall it looks good, I really hope to see the petrol version(same engine as the new Jazz; DOCH 1.5 I-VTEC)in a Malaysian showroom soon given that HM brought the very new Odyseey relatively quick, hopefully with a price tag slightly lower to the Civic’s. As for the hybrid, chances are HM will see weather the Guv will continue our hybrid ‘tax-examption’ before committing bringing CBU here.
Nice, looks better than Nissan Joke…n it’s hybrid
thumbs up Honda!
Looks pretty good. Like a baby Acura ZDX, with the swoopy roofline. Boot looks huge too. Hope it drives well as the Jazz.
Honda. Never fails to impress. This is why I love it so much more than the silly Toyota anytime.
Door second row is almost like Juke. Design bit overkill almost like CR-V. Im already love Honda since they are making Fit / Jazz and while Toyota, fail to impress “WOW” factor from me … is just plain.
It’s time to choose and rebadge them Proton!
B-Segment sushi SUV will bury D-Segment kimchi Santa Fe/Sorento and C-Segment cabbages Tucson/Sportage
This looks good although it looks like a mini CX-5.
2 doors coupe suv? Please don’t lar…
its 4 actually
you can see 1 of the picture opening the rear side door.
From outside, you can see the handle is on the mirror (near the fuel tank cover)
hope tis car will be below 100k! :D
Lol..the most longest aircond vent i ever seen
Shut up and take my money!!!
The aircond is same like aircond at my room…waa..
