Honda HR-V teased by Honda Thailand, Nov 18 launch

The Honda HR-V has been teased on the official website of Honda Thailand, with the countdown pointing to an official unveiling on November 18. With our neighbours up north getting the HR-V in less than two weeks’ time, we can look forward to it arriving here sometime early next year.

The Honda HR-V is a B-segment SUV positioned against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Peugeot 2008, with underpinnings based on the City and Jazz. It made its debut as the Vezel at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

In Indonesia, where it made its ASEAN debut in September, the HR-V comes with a 1.5 litre SOHC engine with 118 hp/145 Nm and a 1.8 litre offering 137 hp/169 Nm. Both are mated to a CVT gearbox, although the 1.5 can be had with a five-speed manual as well.

The Indonesian-spec HR-V rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 215/55 tyres, and is offered in four specs – 1.5 A, 1.5 S, 1.5 E and 1.8 Prestige. An electric parking brake, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, dual airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist and the much-applauded Ultra Seats from the Jazz hatch, are available across the board.

After Indonesia and Thailand, Malaysia should be the HR-V’s next stop.

please come soon. I am considering having a kind of suv riding but not to the size of ASX with 2.0 engine. just within B to ‘extra B’ with 1.8 engine on the highest spec. Fuel consumption that could match City would be a great combo.

Malaysia usually follows what the rest of ASEAN gets (except Singapore). So, if Indonesia gets a 1.8, we might be getting it too. Plus, the 1.8 is the same as the Civic’s, based on my guess. So not much extra retooling required for Honda Malaysia.

Haha.. Honda is damn good in terms of design and specs offered.

However, when it comes to Honda Malaysia, i do not know why does the quality drop sooo sooo much that even Proton or Perodua have less problem than Honda Malaysia’s produced car.

Just can’t believe Malaysia Honda Cars are full of faults.

To be fair as i am a very fair person, Honda idea is very good but the implementation sucks till a very very low level.

Really hope Honda Malaysia improve on their quality.

PLEASE WE MALAYSIANS REALLY HOPE THAT HAPPENS..

Vezel is much heavier than City and may featured a 1.8/2.0 engine, so equip with 4 disc brake. Paultan already prove City with rear drum brake fully stop as efficiently as Vios with rear disc brake maa.
