It’s known that Johor ruler – Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar – is fond of cars and vehicles in general, and has a lovely collection of wheels. Will the soon to be launched Proton X70 make its way into his collection?
Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook account has just posted up images of the ruler checking out the Proton X70 and test driving the company’s first SUV. The Sultan of Johor inspected the car this morning at Istana Bukit Pelangi, Johor Bahru. He was also given a briefing on the features of the X70 by Proton deputy CEO Datuk Radzaif Mohamed and Proton Edar CEO Abdul Rashid Musa, which lasted almost an hour.
The ruler’s Royal Press Office said that HRH then proceeded to test drive the X70 in Executive AWD spec. We see that Cinnamon Brown car in these images, fitted with black leather seats. The Executive AWD is one of four X70 variants, the others being the Standard 2WD, Executive 2WD and Premium 2WD. All are powered by a 1.8 litre turbo engine with 181 hp/285 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Previewed in September, the Proton X70’s official launch will happen sometime in November, after the nationwide public preview sessions being conducted now is completed on November 4. Official details and images of the Proton X70 here.

If every state ruler ask for a personalised view… then every minister ..Amazing productivity doing business in Malaysia
Habislah Honda models
Habislah stock. Brudda2 rather buy used CRV
Gadgets wise used previous gen of CRVs are wayyyy behind
Habislah duit rakyat, ko ingat benda ni murah ke?
Badge tu paling murahh..
Buatpe badge mau mahal2? Badge murah tp berpatutatan dan member keselamatan paling tinggi yg sptnye penting. Memang bodoh klau beli keta ikut badge saje, bukannye boleh selamatkan nyawa pun.
biase le… diaorg yg badge-whore…ko letak badge kat kreta lembu pun diaorg puji ke sudah…
Those seats look majestic and very comfortable. Hope this sells well.
Indicator stalks on left side. What a turn-off.
Just got your driving licence ke?
At least drivers of P1 uses them unlike Jepunis & celup Jepunis fanbois.
What’s the point of locating signal stalk at Right side if drivers don’t use them? Better to locate it at Left where drivers can make full use of it.
P1,if this highly esteemed model cannot sell, then might as well close shop. Now,u r giving sst discounts cos sept sales kaput. It shows, the entire range cannot exite the market apart from X70.
Now ask close shop..last time ask p1 to bring sedan model haih. Make up ur mind bruh..
The multiple personas r clashing, bro. Lets watch with popcorn.
PI can close shop now with Protiga…all the resources Tun divert to his new anak.Proton is demoted to step or unwanted child.now Protiga is king…cash from khazanah is king, mah.
Who r u to ask a private entity like P1 to close down? Then, can P1 oso ask u to close ur mouth kah?
If HRH has a collection of 400 cars including the fastest car in the world of the 70s, 80s and 90s.. And some exotic cars.. He may consider buying this for his bodyguards or to replace the hilux in the garage.
He oso has a Satria Neo LR Edition in his garage. Dun cherry pick his collections. It covers more than just luxuries.
